what about brand new black converse, since they're so classic?

Monokuru

If I were just to wear:
~White tie
~Black OR white dress shirt (long sleeve)
~Black Dress pants
~Black dress shoes
~Black Vest

Would that be ok? cuz I dont want to cosplay.

Monokuru,

You do not have to cosplay when you go to the BWBall.  Semi formal is the dress code for the dance but the more dressed up the better.  What you described sounds great.  It falls in line with what we would like to see at the BWBall.

one more question.
Can the Dress shirt be any color other than Black or white?

Okach

Any color long sleeve should be fine...just bear in mind that lime green number you've been dying to wear all year may burn your partner's retinas out :).

Would something like this be okay?

Note: The skirt will be a bit longer in the front since I'm not fond of my thighs. xD

The dress looks fine, the skirt just needs to be longer.  Skirts can go no higher than 3 inches from your knees.

What kind of hats can you wear at the Ball? Is it acceptable to wear beanies and baseball caps? Or is this strictly top hat professional?

Good question.  No beanies or baseball caps please but top hats are ok.  The outfit you wear should be semi-formal to formal and if you are going to wear a hat, it should match the outfit.

Okay, I'm sorta new to this thing, but I believe I am attending the Black and White ball.  I couldn't exactly find a photo of the dress I'm planning on wearing, but I have found one that is similar.  [Sorry the webpage is on ebay]

It looks like this, but it goes down to my knees and is black and white. Would this dress be appropriate? [halter-top wise]

Nina Star 9

I'm not an official staff person or anything, but that looks fine to me. For the past two years, I've worn a halter top with a large cutout at the chest area and no back at all (the dress started just above my bum), so I doubt that anyone would have any problem with the amount of skin showing on the top of that dress.

From what I see in the picture, the dress looks fine for the BWBall.  I don't see any problems with it.

okay, thank you :]

I really didn't want to ask since so many people are asking practically the same thing over and over again, but I looked at the picture and realized I couldn't answer the question it myself just by reading this thread(which I have done. ^^;).
Are the boots in this okay? Actually.. is the dress itself okay? The middle part of the skirt(the short part) will likely be further down than that. As long as it's no more than three inches higher than my knees, right?

I think this is my favorite out of his drawings so far. There are others I like, but this is simple(for him anyway lol) yet elegant and I just love it. <3
I'm glad you do too. :3

Hi there.  The upper part of the dress looks ok.  You are right about the bottom part of the dress, it would have to be no higher than 3 inches from your knees.  As for the boots, I would have to say no to the boots.  I hope that helps.  Let me know if there is anything else.

Thank you, Jim! I wasn't sure if I wanted to make the boots anyway(covers are SO much work...), so this is sort of good news. xD
Thanks again.

Never mind, I just read a recent post with the same question as mine. Sorry!

*edit*

Hello! So I just bought this (http://www.forever21.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=FOREVER21&category%5Fname=dress%5Fdressy&product%5Fid=2080734273&Page=all&pgcount=25) dress today thinking I'd wear it to the Ball when I realized it might be too short. When I got home, I measured it to be roughly 4 inches above my knee. /:

I was wondering if I could wear black leggings underneath or something of the sort so I'd be allowed to wear this dress. It wouldn't be the end of the world if I couldn't, but I do like this dress a lot.

Thanks in advance!
