Maybe thats all the time he and his staff could committ to? :P
Seeing as how I'm the one who'll be managing/ running the tournaments, I was expecting 10~ tournaments like last year. :)
I only need like 2 helpers if it's only 5 tournies.
You know I am always willing to help set up a Halo3 Tourny if you are going to run one.
I appreciate the thought, but sac-anime has offered their assistance (it's a group of 7 or 8?) and they already offered to do halo 3.  :)

Also running a Melty Tourney would be a joke, no one has touched the game sinc FUC came out and no one touched that since SF4/BB came out.

They just better understand what they are doing. I would be so annoyed if we started ARs.

It's not on the there, but I'd love to see the Dead or Alive Series on the list.
I think the latest installment is "Dead or Alive 4" for the Xbox 360.

If by, it's not for people that want content and depth to their fighting games... you are completely correct sir.

Okay, I'm sorry I can't agree with you.  To the very basic level...there isn't much content and depth in fighting games.  Fighting games are about action and adrenaline.  Whereas an RPG, for example, has more "depth" through it's story telling.

So you don't like DOA due to it's lack of content and depth.  May I ask what title you would prefer?

Wow... just... wow. Are you serious?

There isn't much content and depth in fighting games? DOA pretty much comes down to a basic game of rock paper scissors. Basic combo for 20-30%, Throw, or counter.

Counter beats combo, combo beats throw, throw beats counter.

Now yes, there is more to it than that, but for the most part, that is it. There is no zoning in DOA. There is no thought about frames really(there is but it's on an extremely minor scale to where it's negligible). The entire point and premise of DOA is that it's simple and easy, and fun to watch. A game ANYONE can pick up and play and enjoy.

Other fighting games are made to have depth. Basically every street fighter game, Virtual Fighter, SC, Tekken, Guilty Gear etc. All of them are much deeper in strategy and game play. In VF positioning is extremely important. Whether you're right next to their character, right outside of c.p range, right out of general sweep range, within crouch dash range, etc. Your positioning is ALWAYS important and can mean the difference between you having a huge advantage and you being able to do nothing. DOA, those ranged don't matter. 5P will hit in all of those situations except outside of general sweep range, if not 5pp will. Frames are everything. Something that's not important in DOA.

Sure? What would I prefer?

Super Turbo, SF4, VF5, T6. You know... games that actually have game play. Games that are more than just flashy and fun.

To point out how much skill matters in DoA:
My friend never touched DoA before EVO 2006.
He beat some of the evo entrants in casuals.

What does that tell you about how much skill matters in this game?

I'm sorry, is there a typo?
did you mean "He beat some of the DOA entrants in casuals"?
In any case, I appreciate everyone's opinion on the title.

Mizuki

If you think DoA4 is good, Perfect Legend thinks otherwise.

If you don't know who Perfect Legend is, then you suck at DoA.

In the context with the previous sentence, I think that's implied.  But yes, DoA entrants.

Hello there i am Ramen, co head for sac anime gameroom. I will be gameroom staff this year for fanime. I will bring DOA4 and if theres enough requests for it i will hold a tourny. Another thing is who gives a crap who perfect legend is or what he says. He has his own opinion which doesnt effect everything. If people enjoy it then let them. DOA4 has a unique style which is deep to a certain extent. Although not as deep as other fighting games its still fun for certain people.  As gameroom staff we are here to keep the fans happy and thats all, not sit and talk about a game being bad. So screw the debate it will bring it.

Wow, you just said the best DoA player means nothing.
