Thank you.

Personally, I would make a wine bottle out of paper maché cos it's a challenge. :D
And it fits the "anime" kinda theme. (cartoonie. O:)

i have been wondering something similar, but unsure about where to to post it. if someone were to dress as a pirate, could they have a rum bottle, filled with a non-rum that looks similar to rum? (dark tea, flat soda, etc)

I'd use a a water jug paint it brown and put a XXX label on it. Well, that's what I would do.

Yeah that is sort of the stereotype for rum bottles. I'd have to say no to a glass bottle. Health reasons. (ie breakage, use as a potential weapon, etc etc)
I also think having liquids in the bottle would be a no as well, concerning spillage. Accidents do happen. I would just stick with an empty plastic jug/bottle and painting it.

To do the bottle thing, you would want to sand down the plastic and then paint on it. Then put a shiny top coat of clear glue or some type of sealent(sp?). X3

They do make Plastic Wine /  Champagne Glasses that are usually made of semi soft clear plastic (Check Smart and Final).

Yes, I've seen those. They are very nice for parties. But I think they want to carry around a bottle, not just a glass. I've never seen plastic bottles that didn't obviously hold water or soda.

I'd say with all things considered-

1) be responsible- the item might be considered a prop, and by definition might as some point may be subject to inspection by Rovers.

2) if the wine/rum bottle looks "real" you could be subject to uniformed SJPD stopping you because I'm fairly certain there is a no open container policy of alcoholic beverages anywhere on the con grounds.

otherwise i like the idea of a generic plastic bottle with the XXX label on it.
