Public transit between Arena Hotel and con?

Hi! My friends and I are going to be staying at the Arena hotel which is Alameda about 1.28 miles away. Does anyone who lives there know if a tram or rail car thing go that way and would be a good way to get back and forth?

High Heels + 1.28 mile walk back and forth all day = grumpy me
