Typically when do the hotels open for registration for 2010? I'm just looking for a ballpark estimate so I can check frequently to get a hotel at con. Thus far I've never stayed at con and would like to next year!

Thanks, Avairrianna!

For 2009 it started in January. Don't remember with 2008.
Fanime cosplays (if I can make it..!)
Snowtrooper (Star Wars)
Greed (FMA)
Random pirate
Kurosaki Isshin (working on it now)

Patience is virtue and it wouldn't be up until a couple months ahead.

If you like to do a rough estimate, my stay at the Hilton for this year was $109 per night at con's price. Marriott was a bit pricier.

Unfortunately, the only reliable information I can give you is that 2010 hotel registration will open when it opens.  If it would help you to have an unreliable ballpark target, my notes from last year say that the goal was to have hotel registration up around the holiday season, so it should hopefully open some time around Thanksgiving to New Year.  However, in my experience, things seldom go according to plan, and things sometimes change from year to year.  I wouldn't be surprised if I end up being completely wrong.  ^_^;

Must book one early this time.
I had the 25th floor last time out of 26th floor.
It's like waiting for a bus to come.
Though it was somewhat fun be so high up >.<

You can book early, but it is when you check-in then you know where you're staying at. Ever since last year, I check-in early so I can get the lowest floor they have. Plus, I can ask for a different floor like 4th floor since 3rd level is pool area at Hilton.

That's just my experience.

It's good to talk with the staff about it. I know I will asked them if this room is available or if I can have this floor. Most likely, they will accommodate your needs.

You're welcome.

You can probably also request a lower floor in the special requests section when you reserve your hotel online.  I've never tried it, but they'd probably be willing to honor it, so long as you don't show up on Sunday or something.

Hmm...I had a talk with my friend about the hotel and she wants to check in late so we can get the highest level since she said it will be easier to get out on Monday. And it's fun to talk to random people in the elevator >///<

Easiest way to check out on Monday is to bring all your stuff down to the car on Sunday night. When Monday morning comes around, throw all the last minute essentials in a bag and you're out of there. No need to make several trips and you can sleep in a bit.

My sister and I do that every year.  It is fantastic.  Gives you the chance to really enjoy the last of fanime  :'(  Then relax have a nice dinner and leave without all of the stress on Tuesday.

The only year I left on Monday I started off the day by breaking my toe, had to lug around my laptop all day cause I didn't trust leaving it at the front desk, missed half of a panel I really wanted to go to cause it was time to leave.  Yeah, never doing that again.  Tuesday from now on.  :)
Sometimes I'm glad I became a teacher.  Other times I wish I had simply become a ninja.

I'm thinking of staying an extra day and checking out on Tuesday, probably because I want to visit Bay 101 (a casino) on Monday; I haven't thought of staying Thursday night to experience Day Zero yet, waiting to see how much a room is and if finances hold up.
For FanimeCon 2009, the hotel reg site opened up New Years Day
