There is an event I want to form next year but I'm not sure how to do it or if it will even be allowed.

can anyone tell me anything on this matter?

Tony

PM me.  :)

Or just throw it out there; people might get excited and want to help!

How do you think Maid Cafe got started? :P

it started off as almost a semi joke on the boards... and look at it now.

We're laughing in pride not embarrassment anymore :D

well I really hope my event idea lifts off

but the main problem about it is that it brushes too close against certain guidelines of fanimecon.

How about a cold read panel or a cold read stage event something like this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nn0RuCjqPLs&feature=related and on the screen we can have the english translation or manga pictures to know what they're saying. I know A-kon does cold read panels with the voice actors they invite. Plus this could also be a good way to get the Japanese guests to be more involved rather than just a panel and autograph sessions. Do you also think Fanime could also do a seiyuu session were a bunch of fans get to try to do a a japanese recording session just for fun. Example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I9T-FCHy-5k&feature=related it would be more fun if we had an actual seiyuu involved in it that way fans could actually interact with their favorite seiyuus.

 my apologizes

but my idea is kind of . . . . strange

but if it does get the OK then I'll share what it is.

Tony

Basically, since the idea falls under the purview of an existing department, and would necessitate a nontrivial expansion of said department, it will take some time to explore how to make it happen and then actually make it happen. If I had to rank the difficultly of having this happen, it would be "hard".

I don't think it's a strange or dumb idea whatsoever - it's more about handling the coordination of the thing.

Also: jeez, Calvin! (Says the guy that's responding the latest.  ;D)
