Word on zee street is there will be a Rover's meeting next month. We have a tentative date and location!

Hint: The tentative date is not the same day as the General Staff Meeting
Another Hint: The tentative location is NOT in San Jose...

Correction: THERE WILL be a Rover's meeting next month. Once I get the exact address I'll post the info here and prob a new thread.

Glad to see the Black Suit rovers will be back in style.

Though I got mistaken for one at the BWBall last year when I was the instructor and I would stand outside the door taking a break and getting some air people showed their badges.

Though still glad to see the rovers are bringing back the suit.

just FYI - i think we may have had some "icon/branding" issues with what we jokingly called "black suits"

then again it may still need approval from our higher ups just to make sure we dont accidentally set a precedent by dressing up as a "black suited" individual(s)

NOTE TO ALL:
NOT ALL Rovers are dressed nicely in black, AND
NOT ALL DRESSED in BLack people ARE STAFF.

keep in mind when approached or given "polite" instructions from ANY CON Goer [staff or not] ----
you have the right to look at [not take] their badge and vice versa.

we dont want any posers giving our staff a bad rep.

nor do we want our con goers causing any trouble.

safe, fun and hopefully mostly sane will be good rules to follow at fanime

Rovers is a lot of fun and if you want to experience con.. this is the way to go. if you wanna just do your own thing this is the way to go if you want to do stupid shit... StAY THE HELL AWAY FROM ROVERS. but seriously Rovers is one of the best places to be at con. if you think you can handle it do eet.

@ Short_storiesgl - please no swearing - it does not reflect properly towards our execs as well as other con-goers out there --- please edit.

@ XphobiaX - the position basically does require alot of time, dedication and proper training - we're the most seen, heard, known, and visually marked by the rest of the Con-goers around [as well as exec staff of course] so there is a bit of pressure to perform and perform well.

The point is, you do have to eventually show up at one of our meetings - It's required to at least be present to ONE meeting at the minimum and get the information, training and approval from our Rovers Department heads to get your approval and staff invite code.

I'd suggest getting in touch with Steve or e-mails the Rovers e-mail. Thanks.

After having the wonderful experience of volunteering for Fanime '09, I hope to join the Rover team. (If not, I'll see you guys there as a volunteer again.) Rover's were the best people in the convention--my personal experience, anyway.

Does anyone recall the "manhandle" codeword? Fun times.
