Play Gief... mash lariat when you're close... or randomly do 360 instead of lariat.

Who do you play? Who does he play? SRK would be better for finding players to play against, but I can probably give you general tips to beat whoever he is.

You should be looking for ST players on GGPO instead!

I havent tried SRK.  I tried on GGPO but Lag input kills me.  being a fraction of a second slower is very unmotivating.

I currently play RYU on SF4, Ive been told to stick to learning with one person for now.

There's at max 2 frames of input lag on GGPO (0 smoothing), mostly 1 frame. Most of the time if you're playing people in the country it's fine (it's good enough for the old ST players to play on their with no complaints) Most players can not even notice a frame or two of lag, and it's fairly simple to adapt to (it takes me a game.) So the input lag thing is not an excuse. You get more input lag on SF4 psn than you would on GGPO.

GGPO lag is godly compared to SF4 lag though.

Who does your bos play? Ryu is a basic character, no real tricks or anything. It's just mostly about solid play. The only gimmick that he really has is hadouxxshinkuu trap when you have full super. It's useful to learn the timing for this since, it virtually works on all chars and hits anywhere on screen.

Idea is simple... you throw a fireball from full/3/4 screen. They jump, you super cancel into super. according to range which char you throw jab/fierce version and it's guaranteed to hit them no matter what. If they jump straight up you do fierce one almost instantly after you see the jump, they land on it. If they jump forward you time it so that they fall on top. Best way is to go into practice mode and set the CPU to record and timi it so they jump over your fireball and practice until the timing is right no matter where they are. Use diff chars to compensate differnt jump types.

Be weary of certain chars like viper and Ryu though who can change timing they stay in the air with flame kick or EX tatsu.

I can tell you each chars match up but it's better if you let me know which char your boss plays. Ryu's game doesn't change drastically in his matchups but their are a lot of small things. The only real different chars are Gief, Sim, Seth, and to a much lesser extent Sagat.
