Best idea ever

It really was.

I reduced my "camping" time and went prowling around the perimeter of the maps. Best piece of advice I ever got. My kills/death ratio has improved significantly, but I'm still not good enough for a nuke, yet. It's always close but no cigar, some guy always kills me when I'm shooting the AC130.

I usually use:

Primary: FAL-Silenced and Halo Scope
Secondary: Raffica-Silenced and Red Dot Scope
Equipment: Semtex
Special Equipment: Flash Grenade
Perk 1: Bling Pro
Perk 2: Stopping Power Pro
Perk 3: Ninja Pro
Death Streak: Martyrdom

Kill Streaks:
Harrier Strike
AC130
Tactical Nuke

In my left brain, there's nothing right & in my right brain, there's nothing left.

considering I'm bored at work here's my basic set up

Primary: UMP Silenced
Secondary: Glock akimbo
Equipment: throwing knife
Special Equipment: stun Grenade
Perk 1: Marathon Pro
Perk 2: Stopping Power Pro
Perk 3: I honestly dont remember... this is the useless perk bracket to me :P
Death Streak: Do not remember. . .

Kill Streaks:
6-7-8  by far the funnest set up as of yet.

The UMP and the ACR are perhaps the best guns in the game. I can't say how many times I've been picked off with those from sniper range but it's enough to make me noob tube everything. My favorite secondary weapon is the Raffica, it's perfect for the Last Stand Perk.

One important tip about this game is that payback isn't worth it. You may think that after watching the killcam, you kow where they are at and what gun they are using but there were so many times when I rushed right back and got killed by the same player but in a slightly different spot or got killed by another player. I learned from that and I started to take advantage of other players hot-headedness and it proved that there are some really dumb people out there willing to die as many times as necessary for one payback.

Another tip. "Once a tuber, is always a tuber." If you are playing against a noob-tuber it is not likely that he'll stop for the rest of the match. However, if you could get them to change class, they might not go back to tubing. Calling in air support or sniping usually does the trick. I don't tube back because that draws easy attention and I suck at it in general.

In my opinion your first mistake is choosing the AC130 over the Chopper Gunner, but that's just my personal opinion. Chopper Gunners may get shot down faster, but they also kill people faster and you don't have to wait for reload times or for the shells to reach the ground and explode.

Also, once you get your AC130 or Chopper Gunner, the first thing you gotta do is find a legit place to hide without being killed. Low traffic areas in a spot that not many people care to look. Like, prone in some bushes, a dark corner, in the far corner of a map that nobody really goes to.... etc etc. The first time I got a nuke I was in Scrapyard. I used my Chopper Gunner while crouched in a corner of the large Warehouse, right in the middle of the enemy spawn area. I was lucky enough to not even be noticed and got the nuke unlocked before I was finally killed. Fun times.

Yes, camping is bad. Camping just gets you killed faster in my opinion, unless you have teammates backing you up. Playing in a pub match and trying to camp will never get you a nuke unless the other team is full of retards. Camping *could* be okay if you limit it to area camping. In that you kill someone in a room or small area and change locations. Most likely they will come back and expect you to be in the same place.

Another hugely successful tactic for me, is flanking. If your team is pushing the enemy at one side of the map, then try circling around the entire map and most times you will catch the enemy off guard from the back. You are more likely to complete this the faster you can run to flank. So speed can be a factor. Also, firing your gun off will alert the enemy to your position on the map. If you can avoid using your gun, do so and knife the enemies you sneak up on. I always had fun with this tactic on Afghan.

Also, sometimes most people will avoid running straight up the middle of a map because it can be dangerous. But, since most players know this, they run up the sides of a map instead. The enemies expect this and are mostly prepared for this tactic on maps like Afghan. However, most people will be caught off guard if you can sneak a quick run through the middle of the map and then pull off a flank tactic once you get behind them.

For example: Your team is spawning near the cave side of Afghan. The other team is on the other side in the bunkers. Your team is pushing up the right side, while some might even be trying to run around the left side the long way. Your team might even make it to the bunker entrance, but pushing all the way through can be difficult with enemies posted there. If you instead avoid the door to the bunker and run to the left, following the wall... then most likely the sentries in the left side bunker will not see you coming. You follow the wall around and immediately make the right turn up the stairs inside the bunker and knife anything in the room. If you took fire going into the room from the field, you can crouch and wait in the room facing the door and kill anyone who enters. Or you can run out to the right and circle around to help your team push through. Tons of fun. ;D

I haven't played this game in months though...... maybe people have gotten better. ::)

skill? no. a good twitch reflex yes.  I've more or less moved on to Bad company 2, only play CoD when my friends want to play.  and I'm no-where near pro but wth is a pro-pipe?

Exactly. Anyone with a Redbull or some 12 year old child is perfect for the game.

I weighed out the advantages and disadvantages of a Chopper Gunner and an AC130, and I feel that the AC130 is better. An AC130, has two anti-missles, a variety of guns, and it gets better multi-kills. People get really panicky over it and the enemies tend to respawn next to each other. I can use this to guess where a cold-bloded enemy would respawn and kill him before he takes me down.

In my left brain, there's nothing right & in my right brain, there's nothing left.

Brutal

I'm satisfied with my 3 nukes. Who wants 48 of them? Jeeze.

i have yet to get one either. :[ however, i got into a hacked game once where my friend jacked a tac nuke from the enemy's care pkg. it took 5min to go off so the beeping noise just kept going and going. so annoying.

fave killstreak set-up is harrier, pavelow, chopper gunner. "i can see your pavelow, pavelow, pavelow..."

and i agree w/ c2chaos that raffica + last stand = awesome. that's how i completed my last stand prestige challenge. :]

Anyone here tried the new maps yet?

In my opinion, they are OK. I like Overgrown the most because I could lay in the grassy outskirts and snipe approaching enemies. I got 27-0-1 mostly because of a sentry gun.

out of the new ones, my favorite is storm. only thing i don't like about it is when people who start on the train tracks tac insert up there. salvage is way too cramped and i don't even remember the name of the other one. i like overgrown too and now that my mw2 disc is scratched, i'm glad i get to still play it on cod 4.

@c2chaos: hope your nuke was equipped!

c2chaos

^ Nope. I wasn't going for a nuke that time. It looked like I could have too. I was trying to get the challenge completed for emergency airdrop.

My friends helped me get my 3rd nuke. I've gotten all my nukes on Highrise.
It helps if you play with friends and it helps if you have scavenge on since you run out of bullets quick. I recommend playing it on regular (Demolition, Domination, Ground War) and not hardcore seeing as you might friendly fire and end up killing yourself.

Try playing Domination since there is no time limit or kill limit. I like my killstreaks set on Harrier, Chopper Gunner, and Nuke.

That's all I can think of as for now. Might edit this post later.
(note: care packages do not count towards your kill streak)

One useful tip I got for working towards a nuke was: "Hide and let your harrier finish before you start your chopper gunner."

Aznmnky

so, is this going to be at fanime? I'm just looking to chillax in the gaming area late at night and play some ssf4, mw2, hdr, anything really =P

Aznmnky

In pub matches, I learn to pick up the other team's (each individual's) habits.

If there's a sniper, I rely on map knowledge and find the most uncommon spot go to and take him out (usually they're always exposed one way or another). Just have to figure that as you play.

Commando/Marathon knifers in general, again, I rely on map knowledge, but I also pay attention to the radar or map to see the direction my team's attention is focused. So I just move the opposite direction and prevent any flankers.

Campers,....I'm not hating on them cuz it's a legitimate playstyle. So whatever floats their boat. =P The one type that doesn't really get anywhere in this game is the one that stays in a fixed position on every map. The ones who set up their tent (securing an area) are harder to take out, but generally, I like to let my teammates be cannon fodder until the enemies expose themselves. hehe

Tubers, yea...pretty much a thorn in your a-hole, but hey, it's legitimate to me. I avoid engaging them with a passion though.

Who wants 48 nukes? Boosters.......I laugh at them. You can hear them from a mile away. I don't understand the point...seriously.

I just find the playstyle that works best for me is flanking. I can camp and whatnot, but that's no fun. I like running around and exploiting people's weaknesses. I guess I can say my gunbattles are good enough...still improving (more advantage if you have good aim + sleight of hand cuz you can get the first shot out). Here's a tip to improve your gunbattles...use tactical layout (unless you're running and knifing), learn the drop shot, and buy fps freak! =D

Best killstreak, imo, pred/harrier/pavelow. You get to run around and shoot while having air support.

Btw, I'm just curious...is there such a thing as "pro tubing"? lol

Aznmnky

My normal class setup:

Tar + silencer
scavenger pro/sleight of hand pro
stopping power pro
ninja pro
claymore/semtex and stun grenades
pred/harrier/pave

My screw around setup:
ump + silencer
marathon pro
stopping power pro
ninja pro
semtex and stun
care package/sentry/edrop ("box(es) of skill" ftw....)
