Hell, the food is one of the top five reasons why I go to Mexico. Nothing can measure up to the delicousness of it, especially when it's homemade. I love hot sauce!

My dad is from Mexico and he cooks gourmet mexican food everyday...Best dish hands down...is when he steams half lobster tails and makes this salsa verde, with fresh mexican style rice and home made refried beans...add a home made tortilla!! I am salivating now...


Oooor he makes scallop ceviche!! OMG!!!

Peruvian food is also delicious...but I can only make 1 or 2 dishes from peru, but I make them well  8)

The Macho Tacos and Combo Burritos from Del Taco!!!

But I can recommend two pretty good Mexican restaurants, Juan's in Berkeley and Murillo's in Vacaville, if you're near either area.  Juan's is a bit diffy to find, a few blocks south of Dwight Way, I think the cross street is Ninth. I normally get a super burrito, but the Matador plate is pretty good.

I believe both restaurants are family owned (not sure about Murillo's).

If you are in SF by the Tenderloin area, Tacqueria Castillo at McAllister almost where it meets 7th street is also pretty good for fast and huge burritos at lunch.

My bro recommends Los Cerros in Richmond off of Richmond Parkway (the al pastor burritos (marinated pork) and chimichangas are both good).

I love Mexican food as well, thought I have to admit the line between Chicano (most popular here) and Authentic Mexican food is a bit blurry to me.

I unfortunately don't know what mexican food is beyond burritos and nachos.  Frankly though if it were just those 2 I'd still hold "mexican" food as one of my top 3 cuisines.

Well Taco Bell at the very least has price. I think. I assume La Pinata is more expensive then Taco Bell anyway. Taco Bell is dirt cheap. Though I don't know the prices of La Pinata

I am with you there on Taco Hell!  Unless I see the mystery meat being prepared I just can't eat it!
I am going to have to bring some cooking supplies with me to Fanime this year to make some home made tortillas for some REAL tacos!  Hey I might be able to make some extra money..LOL
