Valley get together

Hey, while I'd love to be one of the people who lives in the bay area, I don't.
thus, I'd like to set up a get together with some of the other awesome people stuck in the valley.
I'm in the Modesto area, who wants to meet up?
(NOTE: no dtf type situations, we're talking hanging out for movies or picnics, maybe get drunk and karaoke, whatever everyone can agree on)

i tend to be in "plain" [ NPC ] clothes but I did recently put together a basic steam punk outfit.

LAWL @ Drunken Karaoke, - but to save money I have Rock Band 2 & Lips [xbox360 2 player karaoke game] so more money we save--- the more money you can spend at Fanime in a few months.

a picnic? people still do that?  :P

I dunno who else is in the "Valley" but I'd be down and crazy enough to participate in a road trip.
I still have friends in the Tracy area I havent visited in a while so its a good excuse for me to be out there.

how far are you guys willing to go, since i read that some are in manteca..

i'm partial to having it here in modesto, but that's because i'm biased. O,o

keep it in modesto if you want- I'm okay with rounding up random people around here and road tripping it up there. :P

again it wouldnt be the first time if its in the name of good nerdy times. :)

also, if theres some miraculous way you could make it down [either via bart / cal train / or some 511.org] option feel free to check out the San Jose Oakridge mall gathering...

if theres a way you could make it partway or half way down to the bay area - I'm sure someone [cough cough] would be willing to take you the rest of the way to meet fanime board ppls in the SJ area.

dont be discouraged. just plan something- have back up dates/ ideas / things to do and we'll let you know if we could make up there to hang out or not.

I'm with the Fanime Rovers Staff and we're having a meeting/training/ fake birthday party for some old guy [cough cough] and stuff like that... so unfortunately I'll be busy. unless you want to join rovers! we're Recruiting!

Must be 18+ to apply- Many will enter few will win. _insert other legal stuff here_

and no I dont live on the internets... that would be weird. :P

the only move out this weekend would be the " CRAZIES " so i dunno if you like super scary gory thrillers and stuff.
that and mixing it with a picnic and dinner sounds dangerous :P

you will find an end to your boredom- no worries. thats why ppl post here to gather ideas and meet/ greet and nerd out.

kinda hard to explain-

if you search any of the " Rover " threads you might get a random idea of what we do... or not.

just not any weekend that doesnt already involve some random Fanime meeting... which in my case could be alot of weekends.
but it still doesnt hurt to randomly throw out a random date or something and it will be a process of elimination.

or i just skip a meeting or two... it just better be for a good reason.  :D

sorry Fridays I work all day and the following day until 5, so fridays are no good for me whatsoever. However Saturday nights are perfect for me, since I dont work sundays.

im in the same boat as rude32 - being the office work monkey i am im not out of the office til about 5pm and getting into the modesto/central valley area will take at least and hour or two...

but that hasnt stopped me from visiting friends before either. again this weekend is bad for me- but theres always next weekend and i think weekends will keep happening unless something changes :P

If we hangout in Modesto we could do some lasertag, bowling, boomers, movie theaters, bars. I'm sure there are other things, but these are the first things that came into my mind.
