How Do We Feel About Posters on This Forum?

I don't want this thread to become a "Poster-Bashing," but rather, more like an evaluation.

Do you have instances of Posters performing their duties excellently, then please post thos stories. Some Posterss in fact go above and beyond the call of duty, and will help you deal with other Posters that act in an unjust manner. They will even stop "trolls" and "thread bullies" (don't know if that's an actual term) from picking on you. Posters CAN do their jobs well, and those that do should be acknowledged. (To be fair to the "negative side" please don't mention names.)

Has anyone else felt that Posters have abused their rights in any way? Such as show favoritism towards certain mods, flaming threads for little reason other than trying to be like a parent telling their child "no" with their reason being, "Because I said so!"? Or telling you to stop talking and threatening you with flaming because they don't agree with you, even though you're doing or saying nothing wrong? If so, post! You don't need to mention any particular names, (In fact, I'd rather you didn't. Posters talk to each other, you know) but if you could, talk about it!

I posted this topic in this category because the Posters in the MORE proper categories would flame this for people speaking their minds against them. To help try to keep this touchy thread alive...I suggest these guidelines...

* "Please stay on topic" Posters tend to flame threads that go off the wagon and just go into shameless stupid arguments.

* "No flaming" This is a simple, straightforward topic. It's not about arguing that someone is being stupid or being a p*ssy.

* "Facts only" If you have a story to tell, facts only please. If you think a Poster behaved unfairly, then only say what they did (no names), and try to leave out your personal opinions. If they behaved in a favorable manner, then again, to be fair, say only how they helped/assisted/impressed you.

* "No attacks" If you're out to just bash certain Posters you don't like, whether for personal reasons or otherwise, please don't post here.

I want this to be a fair discussion and evaluation of how we feel our Posters are performing their duties. Perhaps if they know how we feel, they will either keep up their good work, or change whatever mistakes they're making.

This topic sorta feels like Deja Vu ~ but I'll post ! :)

Minus uncontrollable spam - these forums have always been a place of positive, informational and sometimes humorous dose of what Fanime has meant to me for over 10 years now.

I'll even admit that sometimes as zealous as some posters can be [myself] included I've always thought that the Moderators and System Admins have been very fair with disputing any concerns or issues that may not always be "politically correct."

Fanime has held its "By Fans for Fans" Mantra and thats very respectable considering that Fanime is turning "Sweet 16" years this year.

Despite things that you cant always see behind the sparkle and epic events there will always be room for discussion, improvement and morality checks- hence thats why were all here to "self moderate" ourselves too.

So hey, nothings perfect, but by looking at the Fan/ Member count of the forums as well as the 14,000+ attendees and growing every year- I'd say that things are pretty "nifty."

So this is me saying~ "Thanks Fanime." for being as awesome as it is this year, as it will be for hopefully a long time to come.  ;D

I think other than serious topics where people should you know... actually act serious, other topics which should be more fun should stay clear of "insults" from anyone. No one needs to justify anything or should try and prove anything to anyone else and no one should think that's the case either if it really isn't. If someone thinks it's going to get to the point of e-straggling each other, the better person should just swallow his/her e-pride and walk away. If someone refuses to accept the other person's statements and vice versa, why should ANY ONE keep responding to each other? It's like someone who doesn't speak English arguing with someone who doesn't speak Spanish about who spilled a bucket of water on the ground when both were holding it together.

But ya anyways that small rant I made means I do see some unnecessary arguments. Now that doesn't mean the posts aren't true or correct. It just means whether one makes it or not, it just isn't needed in some cases in general. I don't think there are any bad people on this board out to get anyone ( not like anyone is possessed by the devil or anything -.-; ). I do however see an interesting group of people. Some can act aggressive in the eyes of someone else, some can get offended easily and bark, some are indifferent and don't care, some are probably even scared to post... but I guess these things make the boards interesting, I mean who wants a board filled with robots posting in a metronome pattern =___=; . People will hopefully realize they are the ones to finally decide whether they want to stay on this board.

Finally for the love of God, if there is something between two people, don't become a black hole and suck everyone surrounding it into it (ie. the argument) and just PM each other. Luckily I haven't had to close topics that followed that path of destruction (knock on wood) but I'm sure certain topics which would have been interesting have been closed as a result.

Anyways, who wants to play Blazblue with me on PSN

Yes I have seen quite a few posters go above and beyond the call of duty.
Many Posters will respond quickly to topic requesting help, despite the size of the forums. Most are very supportive and do there jobs as Posters quite well, and are overall friendly.

Nephilim

I recently came back from a loooong forum hiatus (still been attending Fanime regularly) and its nice to see old names like Suspicious and RyuHayabusa are still active. As for people I don't recognize, well, from what I've gathered from the Forum Games they're VERY creative. ^_^

PyronIkari is probably the one who stood out the most to me. Lots of people don't seem terribly fond of him (ignored by 20 users??), but I have to say, his rationale is very spot on. I'm going out on a limb and guessing English isn't his native language either, because he'll sometimes make grammatical errors that aren't corrected by spell check, which just makes it more impressive.

No, I'm just really lazy and don't bother to fix it or grammar check or spell check. I usually do other things while i'm posting on these forums at the same time as well.

I've had a few encounters with PyronIkari and have to say, at most, I find him somewhat irritating. I would not go as far as ignoring him, no, that would take away any future opportunity to debate with him. Rationalizing with him is akin to rationalizing with a bulldog. He chomps down on a tangent no matter what, he will not let go, it becomes an end game. I cannot say anything about grammar or his native language. I've seen many people on many forums spell and form sentences far worse than him. Finally, I do not dislike PyronIkari, but I can see how he may get under the skin of people he posts to on this forum.

@ PyronIkari:
I look forward to our next encounter, but when we argue, it will be for something that is worth arguing about.  Ignored by 20 users? That can't be true? Rest assured I will not make it 21.

I started to crack up at this since it sounded like you were sarcastically insulting him.

I'm sorry, I guess it does sound that way. ._.;
English isn't my first language, but I check over my posts obsessively since I used to make lots of mistakes. Sometimes I'll say something weird like "it's raining dogs and cats" instead of "it's raining cats and dogs" without noticing it.
