I'm still confused, if I buy a pass, is it 55$ for just a day or the whole weekend?

one day memberships are only for sale the day of. the $55 price is for a membership that spans from thursday evening, or whenever you register, up till the last event on monday.

That's the whole weekend price. Single day passes are only available at the con on that particular day.
