E-Check In?

I was wondering if anyone knows if the Marriott does E-check in? I am working on Friday, but would like to secure my room by checking in early online.

Hey, I'm in the same boat you're in! I have a room booked at the FAIRMONT from Fri to Mon. But I work on Friday. I would like to know if I can E-CHECK in at the fairmont. If anyone knows, please reply at me! Thanks.

I'm not sure about e-check in, but another option is to call the hotel on Friday and let them know you will still be staying those nights, but will arrive late, etc.

If there is no other option, I will definitely be calling. However, e-check in is a better way to secure my room whereas calling doesn't quite guarantee anything. I'm a little paranoid now since I've been learning about rights of hotels from my brother who's in hospitality. So I definitely want to make sure the hotel keeps my junior suite.

I don't think you need to worry. I've checked in at 8 and 10 pm in the past with no problems. The important thing is that Fanime doesn't overbook the hotel rooms, so it's not like 5 people reserved 3 junior suites and whoever gets there last is out of luck. The only thing you need to worry about is someone else coming along outside of Fanime and wanting to reserve a suite, but I imagine the Marriott would be reluctant- and besides, who would want to do that at full rates during a convention full of crazies like us? ;)

Even if the Marriott had online check-in, it wouldn't work because the confirmation code is from Fanime Housing NOT the Marriott.

In the past, what I've done is call the hotel and told them that I was going to be arriving later that night. As long as you call your hotel and keep them posted, you should be okay. At, least that's been my experience.

Seconding this. We called the Hotel Kabuki in SF to let them know that we would be checking in...well, after midnight on Friday before the Cherry Blossom Festival. We didn't arrive until after 2 AM and we still had our room.

The key is that the hotel knows your plans. They won't care as they usually have folks checking in and out at all hours (my first thought is always to airline crews as an example).

Hello,

Hotels do not typically offer e-check in like airlines do. This is because they need to swipe your credit/debit card or take your cash deposit. We recommend calling to let them know that you will indeed arrive late. Please be sure to ask for the front desk or you may get transferred to their central reservations center in another state.
