questions on getting my badge when I arrive?

I've already bought my pass, but I was reading the forums and noticed that they need an I.D. from someone who's 18.
I myself am a few months away from 18 and I was wondering: if given a release from my parents, could one of my friends use his I.D. to get me in?
he is 18 and though I have clearance from my parents to go they do not want to go to san jose for a weekend and have no real interest in anime.  so I guess my main question is do I need one of my parents to come with me just to sign me in or is there a way around it?

You need to have government issued identification of your own. 

That means drivers license or identification card (the kind that looks like a drivers license). 

That does not mean school i.d. or library card. 

Your friend's i.d. cannot get you your badge.

Yeah state ID is pretty simple. Couple hours at the DMV and you'll be all set. You may not get it in time for Fanime but you should at least get a temporary ID that you could use. :-)
