I am attending my first FanimeCon this year and I will be attending tomorrow. I have a Canon Rebel XSi D-SLR camera and I was wondering if it will allowed at FanimeCon or if it is not allowed to be taken there? Can anyone help me with this?

Thanks,
ShadowKnight508 ???

Yes, you can bring your camera, and many cosplayers will be happy to pose for you! I brought my xsi last year as you can check out my flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/starfalcon2/sets/72157618565538717/

Photographs on the concourse and in the arcade are just fine. The problems start if you bring them to concerts or into video rooms, especially if it's a videocamera as well as a regular camera.

Always be sure to ask permission of cosplayers before you snap the shot! Be a courteous photographer and you'll go far. :-)

Words of wisdom above. Just ask them politely, if they say no, just tell them thanks anyways and move on. You might want to hit up the gatherings, too. Plenty of Photo opportunities there.
Starting work for Fanime 2011

ay ShadowKnight too bad you arent going to the pasadena comic con. I would love for someone to take pictures of me with a good camera. Are you going to Anime Expo?

This will be the only Convention I can attend this year (due to some big financial issues...my current college budget is just killing me right now because I can't buy any more anime and manga from Amazon...) :-[ :'(
