Marriott $79 Price actually $124

There was a technical error that occurred on our website today with one of the room types at the San Jose Marriott. The room category: King Bedded Room with Guaranteed Rollaway Bed, was reflecting the pricing for staff, not attendees. The correct room rate per night for attendees is $124.00 plus tax, not $79.00 plus tax as previously confirmed. At this time, we will not change your room type but will change the rate in your reservation to $124.00 plus tax. If you wish to change to a different room type at a lower cost, we will be happy to move you as availability allows, or with priority on the waiting list.

At Noon, I darted toward Marriott and the cheapest price.  $79 Great!  Only to get a technical error email 2 hours later more or less stating mistake and I need to pay more.

If I had know this I would have picked the now sold out $91 option (the actual lowest price).  So now this becomes a $100 mistake. I'm on the waitlist (2 hours later).  This is so wrong...

Yeah, my mom got hit by this too. She's staff, but since she wants her non-staff family members to room with her, they won't let her have the discount. We ended up snatching up something at the Fairmont.

Is this $124 the cost BEFORE the discount? That would make sense-

one last thing before I go post(unfortunately, now) for a roommate:     Can I get a reason as to why the rate changed?

#1 King w/rollaway $79 staff price
#2 King no rollaway $91 attendee price
#3 King w/rollaway $124 changed price (offered only because of mistake)
#4 Double no rollaway $124 attendee price

Can't get #1, so converted to #3 at #4 rate, but will settle on #2.

Um yah...I room alone and just want the lowest attendee price.  Easy logic would say this is an easy compromised fix.  Pay slightly more, forgo rollaway for someone who needs it. I'll see.

@Lucifargundam- #1 was offered in error to attendees, 2 hours later a revised confirmation states $124.  Some like me are in a pickle if they were aiming for a low rate.

I eagerly await how Fanime/CMRhousing will make this right.

I am willing to give them a chance to do so.

That said, it would be absolutely absurd if I have to pay the price (~$200+, for some folks I'm sure even more) for THEIR mistake (whether it was Fanime or CMR, I don't honestly care).

Got an email stating my reservation had been changed to a $91/night room.

Not sure if this is because of good work by either Fanime or CMRhousing, or if it's just because someone cancelled theirs and being on the waiting list I was able to get the reservation changed.

Either way, good job Fanime, and thank you. It's things like this that have kept me coming back to this con for nearly 15 years. :D
