Lucky for you I'm quite selective when it comes to pairings. .^_~ I don't just slash anybody with anyone. And unlike most people, shota doesn't really suit my tastes. (Though the charas in Tenipuri are techinically shota but they don't look it so Nya~ *sticks out tongue*

And about it being the same when irl or animated, well... I don't really think so cuz... One is with real people and one isn't. .^^; But that's just what I think. *shrug*

Quote from: "DayDreamerNessa"umm i think there is a yuri con too, i love hentai too, whats so bad about hentai >_>

I wish there was still a Yuri-con.. Yuri-con was a one time only thing..

I should start a new Yuri-con.. Despite those who had the ONE still hold the name for their self-made manga type stuff...

Quote from: "RyuDOA2Hayabusa"It's the same thing. I'm sorry to say, but it is, whether animated or live action, it's the same thing.

Real human beings having real sex and people drawing pretend characters together is the same thing? I hope you don't really belive that.

Excuuse Meee...isn't that child porn and in  various part of the world, illegal? God, It makes me want to take a shotgun out and go after these Yaoi fangirls. Now, the next series that already has been butchered is Gundam Seed.

Why is it ruined for you? Why can't you still enjoy all the old stuff as what it ment to you and ignore what a bunch of "RABID Yaoi fangirls" decided it ment to them?

Do you really think that your way is the right way and if it's not what you like it is wrong?

Quote from: "fuzzyfaery"how bout female/male

i.e. she has a strap on

Whoa! Not that I'm saying that that is wrong but this conversation has officially gotten a little too grown up for this board. There are kids that come here and read this and I just don't think it's the place to start talking about this kind of thing in this much detail.

Actually, Gundam Wing has no official pairings.  The author himself stated he never wrote it with anyone in mind for anyone else.  In fact, in an interview, he was told about people writing Quatre and Trowa as a couple.  He laughed and said that if they wanted to see that, it was fine with him, but he hadn't written anyone to be paired with anyone else.
Reality is highly subjective.

felicity869: what are you? net nanny?

the words i said were "female" "male" "i.e." "strap-on"
im assuming you know what "she has a" means
how is that grown up? did you not pick up those words til you were 18?

phoenixsdark

Forgot one other thing, there are plenty of rabid fangirls on all sides of the series.  Plenty of times, rabid hentai fangirls will pair Trowa with Catherine...which is gross as that's his sister.  Or Ed with the girl who repairs his arm...forgot her name.  Should this pairing be acceptable because it is a guy and a girl?  It has the same age objection.

If you don't like a certain kind of story or merchandise, why not avoid it?  I find almost all hentai dull as heck.  A few series are fun, but I've found most aren't something I enjoy.  Solution:  I don't watch, read, etc. hentai.  Of course, if a friend recommends it, I'll give the title a shot.  But normally, I just don't go there.  I wouldn't tell my friends they're wrong for liking hentai or even yuri.  It's not my thing and I leave it at that.  They give me the same respect.

And why should someone writing Relena and Heero be a bother? Or Heero and Duo?  Kakashi and Iruka?  Or...heck...name a fictional pairing.  I know the story is pure fantasy.  So are many hentai, yaoi, and yuri fics, pics, etc.  It doesn't detract from my enjoying the series and I can't understand why it should.  If I don't like that sort of thing, I just don't read it, watch it, or buy it.
Reality is highly subjective.

No, I'm not net nanny and I'm not a mod of the board. I was just saying that I thought the conversation in general had gotten a little too grown up for this board. I know that a lot of kids come on here as young at 10 years old. Personally I don't think talking about stap-ons and anal sex is something that they should be reading. Did you know what a stap-on was when you were in 5th grade? Should these kids?

hmm..do you know who the original creator of Gundam is? It's Yoshiyuki Sadamoto. Masahi Ikeda, who directed Gundam Wing and Katsuyuki Sumisawa who wrote the screenplays, actually ripped it off from the UC Gundam storyline, since it's ultracompressed into one single year. If you look at the anime closely, look for references that were used and taken from UC Gundam. If you don't get them, watch the UC stuff. It's a lot better than the Gundam Wang :p

Actually, all the Gundam series seem interconnected.  Not by universe, but all seem to have elements or references to at least 1 Gundam series.  It's been a while since I watched them though.  Picked up Gundam Seed but haven't watched it yet.  Was too busy with B'tX and Hundred Stories...not mention keeping up with Naruto and One Piece.  Sigh, so much anime, so little time.  Naruto has a movie out this summer!  And One Piece movie 5 was incredible.  0083 and Wing have my favorite music from all the series, however.

I'll go back and rewatch the series again.  I shouldn't let all the new pretties keep me from forgetting the awesome place they came from.  Thank you for reminding me!  Sigh, not going to get any sleep this weekend.

That's Yoshiyuki Tomino who did Gundam. Sadamoto's a character designer for Gainax.

I knew my supplies were dwindling way too rapidly these days. XD

ryuunosuke Ayanami~ i didn't know yuri-con was just a one time thing! I remember visiting the website a couple of times, but i couldn't go to it, cause i think it was somewhere in the east? correct me if im wrong.

It would be cool if there was another one that started up, but damn i wouldn't be able to go until next year when im 18. but then again i doubt we could have a running con finished within a year XD i would love to attend it

...i think it was in new jersey... youre never ever getting me back there again.

I'm alright with yaoi, as long as it's done tastefully.  Many times, yaoi pairings feel entirely too forced.  If I can't find a reason why the two are paired, then chances are, it's entirely too forced and it rubs me the wrong way.  It's service to the girls and, being a straight guy, I won't appreciate it for its shallow appeal.

Well, Turn A supposedly makes the assumptions that all Gundam series are interconnected, but from Mark Simmon(he's the head webmaster of gundamofficial.com ):
QuoteIs there more than one Gundam world?

Yes. At first, every sequel to the original Mobile Suit Gundam story took place in the same setting, a futuristic space age called the Universal Century. However, with the release of Mobile Fighter G Gundam in 1994, the creators began introducing new worlds - parallel universes, one might say - with their own characters, histories, technologies, and calendar systems. Each of these new worlds is a self-contained setting with no real ties to the Universal Century history, linked only by certain common themes and the recurring motif of the heroic Gundam mobile suit.

At present, six Gundam worlds have been featured in the animated stories, which we can classify according to the calendar systems they use. In addition to the original Universal Century, we have G Gundam's Future Century and the After Colony setting used in Gundam Wing and Endless Waltz. Gundam X uses the After War calendar, while Gundam Seed, the latest Gundam show, introduces a new world based on the Cosmic Era calendars.

The sixth of these worlds is the distant future of Turn A Gundam, a recent sequel which complicates the picture by suggesting that all these Gundam worlds are just different eras in a future history which spans thousands of years. But for all practical purposes, we can regard these worlds as parallel universes, whose inhabitants know nothing of the events of the other stories - which means the viewer doesn't have to know anything about them either.

there you have it. :D
