holy crap someone please help me

So I was trying to purchase my badge this morning and my internet was screwing up. I was REALLY careful, clicked the "check out/purchase" button and patiently waited, until I got a little red message at the top saying something along the lines of "server connection failed :(" and so I clicked "check out" one more time.

I checked my e-mail and saw that I had gotten the confirmation e-mail...... twice.

It charged my bank account twice.

I know it says they are non-refundable, but this was a complete accident and I don't know what to do. I can't afford to shell out 150 dollars and this is utterly stupid because both badges would have the exact same name on them...

I will try to contact Fanime ASAP about it, but I have another question. My boyfriend is also coming along and he has not purchased his ticket yet, could I just give the extra badge to him even though it has my name on it???

You most likely won't be able to have him use your badge but what you could do is when you contact Fanime ask them if they can switch the names of one of the badges to his that way it'll match his ID when you guys come to pick up badges. Then your bf could just pay you back.

Unofficial reply: I'm almost certain they'll refund you as it wasn't your fault the double charge happened in the first place. The sucky thing is, returning the amount to your account may take time. You do need to contact them asap to see what your next steps are. Maybe you can see about getting a cash refund at the con, so you actually have the money to spend in time? I'm not sure if their system is set up to do something like that, but it's a possibility.

As for giving your boyfriend the extra badge, I'd advise against it. If they caught him using it, they could possibly revoke your membership for sharing badges. Just get a refund.

hopefully one of those things can happen, worse case scenario you could probably speak with someone at the con when you pick up your badge, like kuudere said it's not your fault that it got charged twice. i do hope you get everything sorted out.

I sure hope so. I don't mind how long it would take so long as I get my money back at all.. if not, like OtakuAngel said I'm hoping at the very least they could change the name on the 2nd badge and my boyfriend could just pay me back.

Don't worry, it'll get straightened out. Staff don't want to overcharge you, and it's pretty easy to prove your case since both badges have the same info. Good luck!

A lot of staff are on-site now and probably not looking at their emails.
Your best option is to go pick up your badge as you were planning to and explain the situation (bring the necessary paperwork and proof) and they should be able to help you out.

No we are not interested in double charging you!

Just now, I had this happen to me too.
It said "the server messed up ):" and I had to hit confirm again. I checked and it charged me twice.
Hopefully we get this fixed! xD
