Just a heads-up that emails for Hotel Booking went out. Mine says 1/16 @ 7am.

You wont be charged until closer to con, some hotels take deposit up to 3 weeks before check in.

Managed to book a room right away, no site crashes or anything! Either they've learned how to handle the traffic, or there's not as many people booking rooms right now.

Got the Fairmont for Fri-Mon. But the good news is we got put on the waitlist for Thurs-Mon. (Darn you 1pm time slot ;u; )

Well, I slept through my alarm for 7am, and still managed to get a Hilton room for the whole weekend, around 10am.

No issues here with 7am reservation for the Hilton (I'm local but a couple of my sisters are attending for the weekend this year and I'm looking forward to having a room to stash cosplay in / relax).

Reading on Facebook it looks like people were bum rushing the housing site this morning as the system was allowing them to book rooms without a priority window. However it appears Fanime has been taking care of the issue and canceling reservations made by people who did so outside their booking window, then fast tracking the waitlist for the people who had their early times filled due to the illegal bookings.

They gave me 1/17, but it looks like the all the good ones are taken. Maybe I'll just room with somebody if things don't turn out.

I'm wondering this as well. Last year you could select waitlist next to the hotel. If memory serves, it would only allow it once you made a reservation, but I could be wrong. This year I don't see the option at all.
