hahaha guts... I would say, 'no shame or pride' XDD But it's okay, I like making a fool of myself as long as it makes people laugh. :) Making people laugh is my specialty!!

Yes. His voice is absolutely amazing. D: Very hard to believe he's 29. So, so hard.

Yeah I know...I almost ripped his shirt off...he was sooo hot!  I was watching the Dvd that came with the CD A to ZZ and none of the videos does him justice     sooo sad!  I wish someone would make an english site of ZZ for tour dates and schedules...that would be awesome!
Hey if you are going to make a fan club...I am in!!! YaY!

Quote from: "YoureMyHiro"Hell yeah, ZZ was awesome. I bumrushed that table as soon as theyre encore was over. I had to smash past children, nuns, priests and buddhist monks but I scored the "GHI" cd which had most of the tracks they performed that night. I already made mp3s out of them which I will make available via limewire for the world to share tonight.

I don't know if its in your best interests to blatantly post that you are going to participate in internet piracy. Especially on the bulletin board of the event that the artists of the cd that you are about to pirate performed at.

Just as a heads up, many people DO check these forums and some of them ARE people that may want you to take responsibility for your actions.

Regardless, I personally find it strange when you are "supporting" the band by "pirating" their music. Although Im sure as a fan of ZZ you want as many people to listen to their music, and its not like the cd's are readily available in the states.

However, perhaps you could have phrased it in a "not so blatantly illegal way"

Its great to hear that ZZ has gained the support of fans in the US that are willing to take the time to spread their music, but don't get yourself into trouble with the law doing so.

o_O I concur. A lot of my friends who I had them listen to my CD to really liked it, and wanted me to burn copies for them. But ...I dno't want to support piracy you know? Cause I really like ZZ... T_T;; so yea, I'm putting that off XD;;;; and they're all a bit disgruntled with me... -coughs-

But yea XDD As soon as I got out, there was this HUGE line, so I started waiting...then I realized too many people were cutting, and at this rate, i'd never be able to get my CD...so I just...yea... -coughs- cut and pushed through the crowd... AND LO AND BEHOLD!!! Nabbed the last CD+DVD there was. Only cuase they ran out of the CD one T_T; oh wells. xD

Hrm, I didn't want to push and shove my way to the front because quite frankly,  I know how it feels to get shoved and I don't like it one bit ^^; It was upsetting to see that there were a few of us who were waiting patiently while people cut in front....I thought it just caused a  hectic atomosphere, and I felt a little bad for the people running the table because of all the craziness that ensued immediately after the concert. Looked quite stressful to try to get everyone in order with no one really listening...

Hrm, I was a little distracted though when I saw Sotaro-san chillin by the table, only to have a ton of young females rush to him, hahaha.  Poor guy, having to fight off all that jailbait, haha xD

Anyway, it really is sort of hard to get people to buy CDs, especially when they know you've got the albums. And in comparison to the prices of domestic Dual Discs, laying down over $30 bucks for one CD+DVD import set seems like a hefty price for those who aren't used to it. Most of the people I've shown my little ZZ DVD to really love what they've heard and seen, but they really aren't willing to lay down the $35+ bucks for the G.H.I 2-disc set. Instead, they visit my house to listen to the CDs and watch the PVs, haha. The problem is trying to get those people to understand that spending that money only helps support the artists and shows that there is support for Japanese music here in the US.  The main problem seems to be affordability...

As an active consumer of Japaense CDs and DVDs, it does get a little tiring when people who I know won't buy the CDs keep asking me to burn them copies. It really doesn't seem fair that I'll spend hundreds while people want this stuff for free.  It's not like it's impossible to afford...If you put like maybe a couple of dollars away every other day instead of buying that ice cream cone or something, you can buy a CD once or twice a month at least. I guess it'll all depend on just how much you like an artist though...

Puwahaha I've babbled too much.   :P

The show was awesome last night! They played a bunch of my favorite songs, too, which was exciting. Didn't think they were going to play "Step Foward" but when they did, I was so happy!!! The whole intimate club feeling was damn cool, and they were giving it their all even though it was a pretty small space.  It would be awesome if they came back again for MusicFest!!! Seeing them again only reminded me of how amazing they really are <33

It's a long story.

Do you think you could give us a subtle idea as to why they weren't asked back. xD

AbsolutelyCursed

I would like to know that as well. They were the best act last year.

Tony

Long story short: they were, indirectly, and then a tragically hilarious sequence of events led to the current situation. The long story is a PR nightmare, and so I won't talk about it. But some mistakes and misinterpretations were made, and it suffices to say that this sort of situation won't happen again.

Just so you know, the resources for MusicFest are hardly unlimited... there are a ton of little details that add up quickly, especially considering these artists can't just take a Greyhound down to the Civic and crash at a friend's place. And there's only so much time for performances; we're even building Stage One so that each of the six bands can get some time in to play.

That said, we're really doing something pretty revolutionary this year. Six bands on two stages over three days... and they're pretty cool bands. (Goofy Style has been stuck in my head for weeks, for example, and I'm looking forward to Guitar Vader and Swinging Popsicle as well. Just look!) With Stage One, there will be a seriously intimate club atmosphere - you'll be able to get right up and touch them, practically. And you can even get their music for 99 cents a track online if you like 'em - no having to buy expensive import CDs.

Eeps, it sounds like something really bad happened between MusicFest and AVEX o_O;; So does that mean that because of all that trouble, that ZZ (or any AVEX artist for that matter o_O) won't be able to come back to MusicFest at all in the future or only for this year?

...I would like to point out that everyone can also get A LOT of ZZ's tracks for .99 cents/song online through iTunes Music Store (if you buy the internet-only albums - 3 of them are available in the US, 4 in Japan - they come with bonus talk sessions with the band o_O;;  ), so you don't have to pay an arm and a leg for their import CDs either LOL. AVEX is pushing to make their artists' music more available in the United Sates through iTunes. LOL, they're really doing their best to make it hard on the competition o_O;;; You can get stuff by ZZ, dream, m-flo, Hiro, m.o.v.e....all for 99 cents/song o_O; or ten bucks/album  o_O;;

I couldn't help to add some clarification about the bands that will be playing the MusicFest this year. First of all this will be the first and the last time these bands all appear on the same stage together. Why? Because they are all headliners in Japan. Not to mention that they are all playing completely different styles of music. When ZZ plays in Japan they play in some of the exact same places that all of the bands appearing at Musicfest play at.

Guitar Vader - These guys were signed with Sony until they broke off to form their own label. Hexstatic from the U.K made a video using a remix of  Guitar Vader's "Perfect Bird" featuring Astro Boy. I'm sure if you do some searching you can find the video. It was on MTV U.K. Speaking of which, the last time Guitar Vader played outside of Japan every  show was sold out. This is their first chance to come to America. They have a huge underground fanbase in and outside of Japan thanks to their appearances in Room Mania , Jet Set Radio and anime soundtracks. These guys are no minor act.

Swinging Popsicle - These guys were signed with Sony as well and have sinced moved on to a lesser known but less demanding label where they can make the music they want. They have been produced by the same producer of MISIA and when they play in Japan it's always packed with famous members of other bands ala The Brilliant Green etc.

Up Hold - These guys are one of the first bands to make HardCore popular in Japan. They have played in all of the big festivals in Japan with bands like Static X, Sepultura, Pantera etc. Not to forget their appearances on various anime soundtracks etc. These guys are not slouches. Of course they are signed with a major label.

I could go on and on about all of the bands that will be appearing at the show. I just want to dispel the idea that the bands playing MusicFest this year are just average. The other 3 Goofy Style, miami and Poplar are just as equally awesome in some way. I cannot wait to see the reactions on everyones faces when they see these bands perform live. I have seen them all and they are all awesome. I just hope that everyone gives them a fair chance. I think you are all going to be blown away and I hope that the bands are able to make some new fans.
