Quote from: "Acid_Android"Eeps, it sounds like something really bad happened between MusicFest and AVEX o_O;; So does that mean that because of all that trouble, that ZZ (or any AVEX artist for that matter o_O) won't be able to come back to MusicFest at all in the future or only for this year?
No, nothing at all like that! In fact, they've been quite generous. Next year could see some very interesting AVEX guests.

Hi Guys--

Here's the official press release on the Fanime line-up. mothercoat spells their name in all lowercase, but they are a top-shelf rock band! Check them out on myspace for samples of their songs (full length songs coming soon!)

LAST MINUTE LINE-UP CHANGE
BRINGS RED-HOT JAPANESE ROCK BAND
MOTHERCOAT TO FANIME FOR U.S. DEBUT!

Due to the hospitalization of Guitar Vader founder and guitarist Shozo Ujuan, the pioneer band has withdrawn from Fanime MusicFest 2006 as Ujuan recovers in Tokyo.

"We're very disappointed at this sudden change because we've all been looking forward to playing live for our American fans for so long. But once Ujuan's better, we'll be back to rock them harder than ever. Guaranteed." Says Steve Laity, Guitar Vader's keyboardist and spokesperson for JapanFiles.com.

Coming to the rescue is one of the Japanese rock scene's most successful live bands, mothercoat. mothercoat has been one of JapanFiles.com's consistent top-sellers, and they carry a fan following in Tokyo second-to-none.

Known for their on-stage intensity and their wide-ranging musicianship, mothercoat was the first and only choice to match the audience's expectations for Fanime MusicFest 2006.

"No one ever leaves a mothercoat show feeling the same. They're electric and just plain unstoppable," continues Laity, who personally asked the band to attend on behalf of Guitar Vader.

More info on mothercoat can be found at www.japanfiles.com.

After sampling the music of each group I am definitely excited about this years line-up but particularly for Goofy Style, Poplar, and Swinging Popsicle.

HEX YES!!! :3 Im so there with the moshing-ness

:3 im really looking forward to UP HOLD this year~

YoureMyHiro

I like UPHOLD's style but they dont seem to have organized breakdowns, its more like random melody changes. My hope is at least they have a good live set.

Tony you mention that you guys are still looking for more bands. Perhaps you guys could get The Noodles? They also have a myspace page and have been to the US a couple of times also with The Pillows.

Tony

Sorry, for insurance reasons we cannot allow moshing. Moshing = no insurance = no FanimeCon...

understandable.Last thing fanime needs is a lawsuit.Although I still feel it is unfair for us moshers, while the fanime ravers are still catered too.Damn you guys and your glow sticks!! *is surrounded by neon colored goons.* This doesn't look good.

I just saw the schedule for Sunday and I noticed they have Lemon Dropkick performing, is this really true? I didnt see them on the Musicfest lineup as a new addition. I just wanted to verify.

Tony

Yep, that's correct! We've also got a few other locals. Check out the front page to see who's coming to FanimeCon...
