Bad Things that Happened to You (at the con)-2006 ed. :D

Good:

I made it to Fanime!
Wasn't planning to go, but the last time I went as in 2004.. and I had the day off, so why not?


Bad:

I only went on Monday.. the last day... and it just felt deserted... :(
I barely got to take any pictures... barely saw any cosplayers... and the only pictures I liked out of the few I took are of this really cute girl holding a sign asking people in the hallway for Pocky (though she was probably too young anyway, so that's a negative).

the marriot stairs at midnight are creepy for a 15-year-old girl to be on, alone, all the way up to the 14th floor... >.<
umm... tha tis about it. XD

My suggestion for you next year is stop by ConOps or Rovers and ask for an escort up the stairs.  Personally, I would have done it, except I'm too old, too fat, too balding and too blind to be walking up 14 flights of stairs.

Yeah, that'd be the kind of thing where we'd advise you to either
1. Take the Elevator, not the stairs, crowded or no.
2. Stop by Rover base and request an escort
3. Grab a friend and make them go with you.

The only bad thing that happened to me was that I lost hearing in my right ear (happened at Music Fest - standing so close to the stage - my fault).

My worst experience at the con was the smell of some of the con-goers.
That really can't be avoided though.

Okay, this isn't something bad that happend to me, but to othere people.

My friend who I was supposed to meet up with but never got to, told me that she and her group of friends were the only people that went to Goofy Style's autograph session on sunday. :( That makes me sad 'cuz I like them and I want them to come back...but if stuff like this happens what if they're discouraged and don't want to come back? :( I want to go to the session but my friends wanted to do other things and I didn't know when or whwere it was at ;_;

The only con-stink experience I had was someone who was obviously a chain smoker and got in the same elevator as myself. I know a lot of folks that smoke but. . yeesh. It practically knocked me out.

Bad things:

- MusicFest having such a small crowd, and the Masquerade being packed full of people
- Getting blisters on my feet from the boots I was wearing all weekend
- Creepy people
- I didn't go to the dance because it was giving off a stink-aura

After 3 hours of sleeping, driving 2 hours down to Fanime, working a 20 hour shift, 4 hours of sleep, another 10 hour shift, rinse and repeat.

Good things: Meh, it was fun!

Bad Things: Creepy perv numbers were waaayyy up. I used to consider bringing my little bro to Fanime, but now, I just don't trust the con enough to let him wander around. Fanime's large numbers have always made me feel uneasy, but this year, I felt downright unsafe at Fanime...even with friends.

Personaly, I thoght the Funk wasn't as bad this year (but I was only able to attend thru Saturday  :(  )  But for those who still need education...

It kinda depends on how late you're there. Weird people come out at night during Fanime...I've been followed on more than one occasion, (and yes, this incident was reported to security, who is incredibly wonderful and helpful at Fanime). My friend was propositioned for sex from a complete stranger, and this weird guy kept popping up time after time, no matter how much I tried to lose him. Not the best expierence...

Um, I was around most of the night...and the morning. I didn't find anything wrong... whatever. I guess it depends on what you were wearing, how you looked, how old you looked, and who you were hanging out with..

I was in my cosplay outfit (Luna from Lunar), its not skimpy or skanky, I'm 18 (19 in 48 hours) and look my age. And I was hanging out in a group, albeit, an all-female group. Guess I just drew the unlucky straw.
