Dag nab it!  Someone has to get me that "Negima" radio album! XD

Oh.  It was posted on Kodomo no Hi.  Why didn't I see this earlier?  Oh yeah.  Never mind.

GAINAX And SHAFT On Negima 2nd Stage
It's been revealed animation studios GAINAX and Shaft will be teaming on the production of a second Mahou Sensei Negima! TV series to be directed by Akiyuki Shinbo (Nanoha / Paniponi Dash). Star Child Records will also be involved and this will mark the first time in many years since they last partnered with GAINAX. No other details are available but expect a Fall 2006 broadcast debut in Japan on TV Tokyo

I grabbed that from animenewsservice.com. (gee, I thought the site went dead XD)

If they revamp and started anew, I hope they stay faithful towards the manga. I really want to see the Kyoto Arc and The Mahora Festival arc done right :D

Yes, me too. I need to see those arcs animated and animated well.

I don't think they'd go back since it already has been done [poorly], but I suspect they will at least take off from the mahora festival. If they continued from where they left off from the summer special, would Class 3A follow the manga and do a haunted house or follow the [crapped up Xebec version] anime and do a play? I hate to admit, but I'd rather see a play [or a musical even XD].

Didn't want to seem like I'm reviving old threads, but there were some new pics from the OVA from this week's latest chapter released:

Looks shnazzy. D: Wonder which sub group will take 'em.

Watched the first episode of this series, "Negima?!" subbed by Mahora, which I'm assuming is an ad-hoc fansub group.

Pani Poni Negima?
Magister Negi Moonphase?

I dunno. But it sure is an odd deal. The serious bits are actually really serious and animated as such, making it seem like a straight-up action show except that then it goes all Tsukuyomi on us and gets goofy and normal Negima like. There are also lots of random goofy details, like the chalk marks on the board behind Negi during his first class. It's kind of weird but kidn of interesting. And the plot so far is moving slightly faster than the old anime, which is good, following generally the same direction as that and the manga but with more focus on the Evangeline vs. Thousand Master bits.

BTW, that's Pockystix's fansub group that did it. I'm going to get their subs and support them hehehe/

Watched the second episode. It's definitely SHAFT-style, and I'm starting to like it quite a bit. The stylized animations for the flashbacks are awesome; also, Takamichi is much cooler in this version. Overall, I'd say this is definitely a better version of the anime, even if less faithful to the manga.

I actually watched "Negima!?" before watching Mahou Sensei Negima. I guess that softened the blow of the first series, lol. I've watched up to the... 4th episode? It's so shojo.

I like how they depict Evageline as the key villan. :]

I think my favorite part was the 2ch emoticons when Chiu gets shocked into seeing she's 2nd place, back in episode 5. But overall I really like the style of the animation here. It's sort of like SHAFT's job on Tsukuyomi, only this is the kind of show where the action was MEANT to be broken up by off-the-wall humor (whereas it seemed out of place sometimes there) - and also this time they had a budget for action scenes - hooray!
