FUNimation Acquires 'Witchblade' Anime

It was revealed at this weekend's WizardWorld Philadelphia during a Top Cow panel that FUNimation has picked up the rights to the Witchblade anime currently airing in Japan, Comic Book Resources reports. According to the report, "The series takes place in the future, featuring an illegitimate wearer of the blade fighting evil two hundred years in the future." FUNimation is also in talks with Cartoon Network to bring the series to their Adult Swim programming block.
