So my friend OverCoat and some of his buddies all like anime music, and they also like chiptunes. They put the two together and created an Anime Chipdisk: 15 loopable chiptune remakes of anime themes, all wrapped up into a self-executing file that you can fit on a single floppy disk with room to spare!

If you wanna check it out:

Welcome to the first collection of awesome
                 anime chips! Hopefully public interest
will push us to make another one.
Feel free to send me requests!
For this chipdisk I decided to cover OP
themes from the most popular anime,
                          though Tenemis wanted his
                      Azuki-chan ending to be used.
                             This is okay!
If another anime chipdisk is created, I
may focus on BGM or ending themes.

You may notice some of the songs are a lot
                 different than the original. Especially
those awful OverCoat tracks! Well, changes
happen when you compress something down to
4 channels. There are also some things I
just can't track. At least the melody is
                                still intact.

Don't forget to turn looping on :)
a lot of the songs take advantage
of song looping, and will flow
                           better if this is on.

That's a really good question. You could record or export the tracks to .wav or .mp3 somehow (I'm not sure if MODPlug can do that), or you might be able to find something that plays .it files (related to .mod files, they're "tracked" songs) for PSP, though that seems doubtful.

If you can't figure out a good way to export them, there are programs like Total Recorder out there, though that seems sub-optimal.

The music sounded like game soundtrack music for the 8 bit Nintento games
