I think that I have now proven beyond any shadow of a doubt that I have no talent for styling a 'traditional' wig...

Does anyone know of any suppliers for anime-styled foam / rubber / vinyl wigs?

well i dont know of any rubber/foam wig suppliers, but i think you're better off commissioning someone to style a wig for you or just not doing the hair aspect of whatever cosplay you're doing. rubber/foam wigs dont look that great and look kinda tacky (take a look at the Naruto wigs that come with the costumes being sold at Hot Topic)
