I haven't been able to venture out into the anime convention world yet so I wouldn't really know. I would like to go to some of the big anime cons when I finish school (aka when I have a job that pays good. lol)
Tsunade! Where are you?!! I promise I don't bite.

The bigger cons, (AX and the like) are like Manga, official, lots of corporate involvement.

Fanime, is like Doujinshi. Self made, lost of fan involvement.

Personally. I like Doujinshi.

I think you said it best :D

we have a winner!!!!!!! :D

and dense entangled spider's web.  The dew
was dripping from the silky strings and down
through canopy to underbrush.  It splashed
the puddle making one more fountain spring.

I approve of said quote above. :D

I mean, where else does one show their talents for the "snack?"  8)

Quote from: "K&K4ever"I know that I've said this about a thousand times but the requirements for the AX cosplay competition make it nearly impossible for regular fans to participate.
And you wonder why...

I just check the requirments for the AX masquerade,

they're still pritty rediculus in my opinion but the took away the rule that real pissed me off last year.

And odds are they won't this year...I mean, look at the press release that I posted in this thread about AX and the various Masquerade prizes that were going to be up for grabs sponsored by various companies...ADV, Bandai Visual, Funi, and so fourth...

AX's Masquerade is kind of going in the direction of the World Cosplay Summit, without all the drama.

Check out the masquarade rools at their sight.  I says that profetionals are exsempt this year. :!:

Only professionals?

Well that's pretty dumb.  What's wrong with "amateur" cosplayers? *confused*

Wait.  There's professionals?

That's really a shame, since there are a lot of ameatures out there with spectacular ideas that professionals can't bring to the table, if there is such a thing as a "professional" cosplayer.

They should at least have a category for ameatures, if only to get some variation.

That's what had me going    this year because they changed the rule book: instead of only having professionals, they're only having armatures.

They still have some whacked out rules that make me grind my teeth  But at least it's not a professionals only party this time. I guess they're learning.
