I'm curious about this, too. For 2006, Wikipedia says "about 10,000," so I was wondering what the numbers were for 2007.

Probably numbers that would keep Fanime in the Top 10 Anime Conventions in North America (Fanime ranked 6th last year, behind AX, Otakon, A-Kon, Anime North, and ACen)

I'm pretty sure we're still in the top 10; we had a decent growth spurt, so I'm sure enough of that.

I'm not speaking officially here, since I don't know the details, but...

I'd say there was about 12,000 people at the show over the weekend. About 11k were attendees; add about 1k for staff, dealers, guests, etc.

Considering how long that registration line was(on sunday I think), we must have had quite a few more people than last year at fanime. The line wasn't understaffed simply because fanime didn't think ahead of time. I think it's because staff genuinely didn't expect that many people to show up.
