Dear Mr. Lokteff:

I was referred to you by my freind Mark Deber.  He told me that I should contact you if I was interested in the possibility of working at Dreamworks as an animator. 

Recently, I graduated from Ex'pression College with a BAS in Animation and Visual Effects, and am looking to work for a company that consistently creates high quality features. Animation has appealed to me ever since I was little, watching Saturday morning cartoons.  It was only more recently that I started to consciously notice the high quality of animation that makes the characters seem more alive and the actions more believable.  Learning to animate has been a fun and rewarding experience for me, both in and out of school, and I have worked hard to hone my abilities as an animator.  Ex'pression taught me how to use Maya as animation tool and also how to use Photoshop and After Effects to create animatics.

Dreamworks has always produced top notch work; from Ants, to Prince of Egypt, to Bee Movie, and I would be honored to be considered for your team. I've seen many of the movies that have been produced by Dreamworks, and am absolutely blown away by the level of quality each time.  I might be able to at least serve as an extra eye, and learn from what I observe.
