Communication between Con staff, attendees

I have a sweet idea for increasing the amount of communication with convention staff (video, ops, live programming, etc) with attendees.  It is to the effect of if something happens, and that person is set up to be notified about it, they are immediately paged through the system with the updated information.

Example:  "Video room 2 is running a bit behind; the yaoi will begin about a half-hour late.  Blame Ebner!©"

So... with whom should I discuss this?  Should I drop more details in this thread?  Should I e-mail someone in particular?  Several?
