And for your info, Try and Next both had awesome endings. Now hush up and go watch more Anime. You've seriously got nothing better to do do you? I'm seeing if anyone who have seen this trilogy wants to comment on how more appropriate/if they wanted/ if it was more AWESOME if the ending is switched. Do you like wasting you time to TRY and start something irrelevant just because you are too handicapped to understand that simple opinionated statement I made?

No, not really.
And so what if  the series is a decade or so old.

You missed to point entirely. My point was about what you posted and stated over "bringing up an old series". I discuss old series all the time. I had a long conversation about Urusei Yatsura a few days ago with a friend. Only it was a real discussion about the series, not a horrible statement about the ending order based on something that doesn't make sense logically.

You're not even addressing what I'm talking about, I don't care that you brought up an old series. You didn't bring up a discussion, just 2 statements about how you think the endings should be reversed... which I explained how it logically doesn't make sense.

Slayer IS a staple. It's a staple in the same way that Eva is a staple. Or the same way Macross is a staple. Or in the same way Hokuto No Ken is a staple. It doesn't matter if newer kids haven't seen macross, or Hokuto no Ken, or Slayers, it doesn't change that it's a staple.

Video Girl Ai wasn't popular... it was a four ep OAV that got very little publicity. But that's just me being an asshole and picking at your word choice.

If you had made a thread about Slayers, I wouldn't have cared, but you didn't it. You were the one that made a thread as if you were an expert on all things anime to make a simple 2 lined statement that had little base to speak on. A 2 lined statement that I destroyed with logic. That's not a conversation piece.

... I'm saying HOW MUCH MORE AWESOME IF <BLANK> HAPPENED INSTEAD OF BLANK!. Open up your god damn brain and let me pour some acid into it.

Urusei Yatsura is WAY more popular than Slayers back in the days.

And Slayers is NOT like Evangelion. Shut you ignorant ass up. Evangelion franchise has been going on for over a dozen years and is still going strong, maintaining it's hype with merchandise, Platinum Editions, not to mention the enigmatic movie soon to make it's appearance. After Try, Slayers vanished off like the other seriesin the 90s like Infinite Ryvius, ArgentoSoma, Betterman, Dual! and so forth, Slayers was NOT well promoted in the states despite it's a long running series as we seen in Hare + Guu and Deluxe which is also a 52 episode Anime with almost no attention despite it's being licensed as well. So you can take the point in bringing up because Slayers was a 3 season show it had to grab many people's attention in the US and shove it up your rear end. The same goes for Macross as it, despite ending a while back, is a long running series with remastered edition being released.

I did not want to go more into it because 1, it's basically a thought I had, and 2, so people don't have to read a wall ole' text just to be pissed to find out how simple this topic really was and requiring to read paragraphs to see it.

Seriously, I come back to try and start a topic after a month of studying for the DAT and I get this ass hat to claim my topic a victim of his incoherent rambling and issues related to absolutely nothing concerning what I am talking about not to mention forcing words I never said into my mouth and looking like a complete jack in the clown for arguing something I care less for, irrelevant to the topic.

Because this thread "isn't about the series" This thread is about him stating a random opinion.

QuoteUrusei Yatsura is WAY more popular than Slayers back in the days.
And? I don't get why you stated that.

You know little about the history of Anime in America do you? Slayers was one of the only long running series you could purchase on VHS back in the days. If you were watching anime in the mid to late 90's in America, you have seen Slayers.

But to cue you in... I could get in contact with people on staff for the EVA movie right now if I had a reason to really do so. It would take pressing ctrl+tab two times and saying "Hey can you give me XXXXX's(name hidden because I don't want people bothering me about it) number, it's semi important." Trust me, I know more about Eva than you do... I know for 100% fact of this. But besides that...

Slayers is a staple series even in Japan. It is and will forever be. Slayers didn't really Vanish off at all, they're just not making more series' and spin offs and games and crap. There are still a lot of fan outlets and it's still a topic in discussion, seeing that it was a staple. Maybe not in your tiny limited circle, but on the larger whole, it is. Go to any major board and you will see comparisons to Slayers or mentions of it whenever a comparable series comes out. I remember when Elemental Gerard came out, 2ch was hillarious. "Why does Lina look like a boy in the new Slayers??????" "Naga doesn't have big breasts, this is terrible!" in almost every single post.

One of the only long running series you can purchase on VHS back in the days? Are you bullshitting me? Maison Ikkoku? Urusei Yatsura? Ranma 1/2? Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water? Don't lecture me about older Anime you newbie.

And back in 90s? Of course, many series were popular back then but rarely brought up now. What you are comparing are Anime series back in the 90s still being promoted and part of a long running franchise like Cowboy Bebop and Evangelion. The Slayers game was made in Japan but not released here. There are bare to none Slayer merchandise (figures etc).

Lol? Call up Gainax's staffs? Know more Eva than me? LMAO. Are you serious? Or are you out of anything intelligent to say other than try and boost your self image with lies and idiocy.

Limited circle of fine? LOL. You are so funny. Here, find me the word " Slayers" in any of the topics that exist in this board. Count them up for me and tell me just how popular and well mentioned Slayers is.

Try asking a few of the staff members... ^^

The thread is even less about Slayers now, now it's about attacking me for trying too point out something.

I would love to point out some irony. It's easy to gang up on me, because I'm not liked here, but think about why I'm not liked. According to most people, it's due to how I present my information and thoughts in a less than friendly manner. That may be true more orless... I'd like you to now ask how many times I've been directly, baselessly insulted, cursed at, and the such in this thread.

Ah hypocrisy and irony, such lovely lovely things.

Outside of Ranma, Slayers was far more popular than any of those in the US back then. Slayers is more popular in the US NOW than any of those outside of Ranma.

Cowboy Bebop came out at a good time, that's why. It came out right when DVD's were starting up, and got lucky based on that. Same with Trigun.

No, it's not how you present your information in a "less friendly manner". You are just incredibly full of shit 98% of times and ignorant when you post, not to mention how you pass off your opinions like they are factual or worthy of any merit outside of your delusional state of mind.

^^ Irony much? You messed up your own post to point out a mistaken quote tag, which then makes your post all messed up. PS I was fixing it before you posted, and am actually talking to a few people. Me, frustrated? Hardly, the only thing frustrating me right now is having to wait to see my girlfriend. Maybe I'm a little worried about  moving as well, but that's hardly frustrating. Though it's kinda funny, I should ask MPLe to post just to say "Uh, yeah, Mikey knows lots of people".

I'm actually talking to a friend about what she should cook for a specific staff member that is working on the Eva movies right now when they finish production... I suggested veal, but there's a back story to it so that isn't that amusing.

LordKefka

Lol. Oh.. so we are now changing the subject which you brought up to mention long running Anime series on VHS to which of those long running series are more popular. How convenient of you to do that.

CB was not lucky. Again, shut the hell up before you open that ignorant mouth of yours. CB, like Witch Hunter Robin, Wolf's Rain, FLCL became popular due to their appearances on Adult Swim. They did not "luck out" with DVDs releases you fool. Same with Trigun and it's appearance on Adult Swim. In fact, when FLCL, WHR, CB were still in fansubs, they weren't well known outside of the hardcore Anime community.
