Question concerning prop regulations

I highly doubt this question is answered on the main website. Forgive me if it is.

As I've been thinking of cosplaying Kotomi from Clannad, I want to know the regulations of a couple things.

First, what are the rules on instruments? We're talking ones that can be carried... Say, violins or otherwise.
I'm also thinking of trying to learn the ending song on said instrument as people may ask me to play.

Also, what are the rules on using scissors as a prop? For my idea, they have to be a working pair.
(And why we say pair of scissors is totally beyond me and quite unrelated to the main point of this post.)

Viloin, etc..should be fine. The only concern with that is that it might get damaged.

Scissors...interesting prop...Basicly anything that has sharp edges has to be piece bonded. But, scissors should not be that big of a problem, since many people bring them for costume fixer upers. I suggest bringing some sort of carrier for them, something that covers the metal part but makes it easy for you to pull them out when need be, or just carry them in your bag.

If I bring it, its so not leaving my side. And no one besides me is touching it. period. We don't want to see me pissed off. >.< Its an memento of my late grandfather.

Most likely, it'd just be with me one day and I'll take it home later in the day. Cause its not staying in the hotel room.

You never know...you might put it down for a second to pay for something and someone can run it over with something....Just saying that accidents can happen.

so if i bring like say... a piano keyboard and a like a bass (kinda like a chello) that would be ok right?

insturments are all cool just 1 thing you have to remember you arnt aloud to use the plugs at the con i dont know why you just arnt so if you need an electric outlet i think it would be a no go unless you have a movable power source

as far as insturments go i think im gona bring my flute ^_^ which will be awsome
