Signs are banned at the convention.

if thats the case, what was originally posted at the beginning contradicts what was posted by Craige. still, everyone(including myself) took what was on the first post as truth without an official statement attached to it, so we all pretty much slipped up on that one.

hmm, this is getting very interesting....

P.S. did a check of this years, and last years websites(including the '07 program book); there is no reference to a rule on signs being banned. this may change for the '08 site, but I'm taking all this for now with a grain of salt.

That's what multiple staff members told me, so, what do I care.

I prefer them banned, if they're not, oh well... if someone harasses me I'll respond appropriately. If that person ends up getting hurt, oh well.

While the official status of a ban seems to be in limbo at the moment, it would be good if we did have such a ban like other cons do, as well as a crackdown on unwanted glomping.  This nonsense has been allowed to go on for far too long as it is.

Paraphrasing the chair: signs are not banned per se, but we have options to discourage or remove signs we don't like.

I'm going to lock this and let it die, so this misunderstanding doesn't spread further.
