When I was in high school, I just got out early.

No offense...but why is this in the cosplay area?
Sometimes I'm glad I became a teacher.  Other times I wish I had simply become a ninja.

I'm not skipping any days.  My finals finish the week before fanime.

I haven't been in school for years. I filed time off from work a month ago.

I have to wait for my sister to get out early. Then haul-ass to San Jose!

I'm not in school anymore, but I'm sure my parents would have let me. They let me get out of school early once so I could wait in line to see the new Star Wars movie.  ;D

D': My parents didn't let me out early, but now I'm in college and don't have any finals on Friday!

You're all luckies!

My parents are the typical Asian parents. They will make me go to school even if I was really sick. I gotta be nearly DYING to be absent from school.

I'll be leaving right after school though so that's good.

FanimeCon is two days after my final day of school :)

I'm an adult who lives on his own so I don't need to ask for such a thing but my parents know that I will not be contacting them that weekend and my job know that I'm not showing up regardless.(If they schedule me I'm just going to call in sick.) 8)

I haven't miss a class yet, but when Fanime starts I only miss one class, one miss class won't hurt and plus my finals are a week after fanime  :(.

Being a college graduate kicks ass.   ;D  All I'm doing is getting my shifts covered at work.

~~Loktera~~

I'm one of the few lucky people who's last day of school happens to be the Pre-Reg Pickup day for Fanime.

So, as soon as I get home, I toss my luggage into a car, get a ride and get dropped off to survive for about 5 days in an over packed hotel room full of costumes, wigs, pocky, ramen, hentai and bodies.
It all really depends how well the lies are told...

=\ it seems i will be in stockton this year when i take my philosophy final but after that its smooth sailing from there

in my opinion, so long as your not missing anything major i suppose letting ur teachers know that your taking a day or weekend off is ok.

i remember students having family vacations and thus the teacher or students would make arrangements for the lost time persay.

with fanime almost being like a mini vacation for your fanboys and girls again just making sure your making responsibilities are kept in check and ur not just running off for the fun of it.

some parents are a little to relax and some are a little too strict that is based sometimes on your relationship with your parents and the possible compromise that some parents allow.

not all parents are great, but then again some parents blame the rest of their world if their kids get into trouble...

for us other adults, like college students and so forth its tough with some of us having finals, projects, papers and what not, and then some of career ppl have to request the time off way in advance.

in other words, to each is own, and just play nice and keep up with ur personal, family or life responsibilities.

woot for responsibility.  :D
