Since con has sadly now come and gone I had a few questions that I wonder if any of the other congoers had answers to. I was floor'd by how busy and lively that the Ex. Hall 1 was this year. And how fierce the competition seemed this year as well among the artists. I've personally been doing artist alley since 2000 and I was really pleased with this year. So to help maybe some artists that might be a little bit intimidated by all the hype and competition that I saw this year I decided to try and get some feedback for what the artists liked this year and what the congoers liked about this year as well.

So to the congoers themselves:

What was your favorite part about the Artist Alley/Art Show?

What would you liked to have seen more of?

What could you have done without?

And to the artists...

Where do you get your prints made?

Do you feel like you made out well this weekend?

What was your highest selling items?

Do you have anywhere where people can buy prints now?

How busy and lively it was. Good times all around, and a nice variety of art choices.

What would you liked to have seen more of?
Obscure series! [hi there, Oofuri, ARIA, and Touhou artists]

What could you have done without?
Nothing that I can think of at this time.

I thought a lot of the artists in the AA this year were amazingly talented, but truth be told, I'm not going to buy prints of anime/video game characters (I'm an adult and have to maintain some semblence of normality :P ) but I'd be more willing to buy original art, but there wasn't very much of it this year.  I'm sure the anime characters sell the best, but surely one or two original prints could be slipped in too.  :)

Ahh the AA <3 Always what I look forward most to in any convention I am lucky enough to attend. Excellent choice and variety of talented artists to commission (which is pretty much the only thing I spend money on there) and generally everyone was very friendly as well. I'd like to see a wider range of series covered in merchendise but it doesn't really matter since I'm not inclinced to buy prints and bookmarks and the likes anyway. But since I'm selling next year I'll probably try and help address the lack of prints of "obscure" series.

The AA in general never fails to please.

1.  The variety and how big it was
2.  Full tables and less dead space
3.  It was too spread out and the room should have been condensed.

1.  I make them myself
2.  I do, but if I was closer to the front, I feel that I could have done better ^^
3.  Badges and Keychains
4.  No

And to the artists...

Where do you get your prints made?  I got my keychains done at Kinko's... Expensive. ToT

Do you feel like you made out well this weekend? Yup, I made back what I made, and my location wasn't too shabby though... although being closer might have brought in some more sales.

What was your highest selling items? All my keychains, $4 bucks!  (Now $3 dollars if anyone is interested)

Do you have anywhere where people can buy prints now? Yes, through my DevaintArt or here on Fanime BB,  I'll be processing it through PayPal. D:

And to help me get rid of these little buggers...

If anyone wants any left over keychains, feel free to look at my DeviantArt! (If you buy more than one, I'll strike up a deal for you!)

Here are some quick links to the series I still have left over:

This was the first year that I actually made my way to the Artist Alley and I was stunned by the great work that I saw.  I had so little money to spend and so many things I wanted to buy.  Next year, I will save up in hopes of finding those treasures again!

Great work everyone.

P.S. If anybody knows the girl who was selling the kitty scarfs, please please let me know...I want to find out about possibly getting another one made...

See you next year!

I liked the AA a lot. I only had about 5 bucks so I couldn't buy anything I wanted to. But I did leave with a very nice Oogie Boogie drawing. I'm saving my money up to buy more stuff next year.
