Title: No-Name Anime showing on Sat Jan 12
Post by: EdOfNoName on January 09, 2008, 08:55:01 PM
This month, on Saturday January 12, join us at the Santa Clara City Library (CA) for an afternoon of anime. After this spate of cold weather, why not come inside and enjoy a (heart)warming tale of time travel and romance, in The Girl Who Leapt Through Time? Of course, we still have plenty of the usual intrigue for you in Le Chevalier D'Eon and Ghost in the Shell. And you can always bust a gut over the bizarre antics of the girls in Strawberry Marshmallows!

All times are approximate, so try to be early!

12:30 Le Chevalier D'Eon #8*
12:55 Ghost in the Shell: 2nd Gig #13*
13:25 The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya #10? #8? #7!*
13:50 Fate/Stay Night #8*
14:20 Abunai! Break time!
15:15 The Girl Who Leapt Through Time
16:55 Strawberry Marshmallow #3*

(* = not appropriate for all audiences, but if Fanime BBS doesn't weird you out, it's probably OK.)

I plan to be there, even though I'm behind on Le Chevalier and Ghost in the Shell.

I hope you'll be able to join us! In case it helps, there's a map at http://www.library.ci.santa-clara.ca.us/about-the-library/centralparkmap.html (http://www.library.ci.santa-clara.ca.us/about-the-library/centralparkmap.html) and some more information about the Santa Clara City Central Park Library at http://www.library.ci.santa-clara.ca.us/about-the-library/locations.html (http://www.library.ci.santa-clara.ca.us/about-the-library/locations.html). There's a parking lot under the library in addition to the parking around it.

Great! The Le Chevalier episode is at beginning of a story arc set in Russia, so it will be introducing new things. I've watched all of GitS: 2nd Gig once before and I still have trouble keeping track of what's going on, so don't feel bad if you don't know what's going on in this show.

I'll refrain from making a joke that references The Girl Who Leapt Through Time just to be 100% sure I don't spoil anything and just give a straight answer: No-Name Anime plans to have twelve showings per year and we're booked for the second Saturday of every month in 2008 at the Santa Clara City Library.

Fantasy Flight Games sent me some demo stuff, so I should have some FFG games on hand during the break!

Also, I'll have some random manga to trade, since I owe Kelly stuff.  :D

Saw Lok, Ced, VictimX, and Ed there. Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo was awesome. Except the end kind of didn't make sense. But whatever.

Had already seen the Haruhi and Fate stuff, Chevalier wasn't bad, Ichigo Mashimaro was... well, exactly what I expected-nya.

:( for not being able to make it to the club for the next few months.
