The comedy club is back and we mean business.(...as soon as fanime staff gives us permission ^_^;) We got permission now. :)
Like past years, your gonna see some damn good fanboy stand up comedy.
Our comedy panel veterans are ready for this year but fresh new talent is always welcome.
I can't wait to see how this year turns out.

UPDATE(03/20/11):We are approved for Fanime. Now to work on our jokes. Remember comedians, practice, practice, practice. If the number of people stays the way it is, we're looking at 5 minutes for each comedian.

UPDATE(04/17/11): Due to the number of comedians set to perform, sign ups are now closed. Remember comedians; practice and time out your sets.(and make room for audience laughs into your time used) 5 minutes for each comedian. I will time everybody and remind you when your time is up. A comedic hand of doom will pull you off stage.

UPDATE(05/10/11): Our sets for each performer is now 6 minutes instead of 5. The schedule is finally on who's performing. I am sorry to those that were cut.
Remember comedians; practice and time your sets. Good luck!

Time of panel: Saturday, May 28th, 8:00pm
Location: Panels 3 Marriot (Salons IV, V, & VI)

The list of performers:
Glitch(me)
Havoc
G.
Paolo
Soap
PassLion
Fazio
Javer

The Itchy and Scratchy Show!

If a zombie outbreak would happen in San Jose during fanime, would we be able to fortify ourselves at the convention center? This is assuming we have time to prepare before the zombies reach the convention of course.(The slow kind of zombies. Walking Dead type just to simplify it.)
EDIT: Let's assume the zombie attack lasts only 4 days(a zombie fanime!), because that's how long till the army can rescue us. We just have to hold out till then.

This story is a prequel to my trip to the dentist.

Battlestar molaria
Chapter 1: Meaty smore rising

The year is 2010(I think. Not sure since I sniff a lot of paint thinner) and my technique for burning random crap is at it's pinnacle. So one day I think to myself "maybe I can cook too". So I wrap some marshmallows over a sausage on a stick.(I would have used bacon, except those always slip off) I start off the fire by lighting a match and tossing it on newspaper pile covered in naruto pajamas for kids.(they light faster than if I would have used lighter fluid)
Once the fire is good and ready, I cook my meaty smore. After a few minutes of my putrid food being on fire, I blow out the flames and take a bite. My first reaction to this unique meal is "holy S*** this thing is hot!!" I could feel the pain all the way the center of my molar.(I haven't felt that much pain since that one time I entered the maid cafe with shoes that have mirrors on the top.)

Serious Business / Proposed mosque near ground zero
August 19, 2010, 11:39:55 PM
I'm sure you've all heard about the mosque(although it's gonna be more of community center, like the ymca is) being planned to be built two blocks away from the 9/11 site. Of course obviously there is opposition to this.(the majority of which are from those who view Islam as = terrorist)  I myself think it would be a great idea since they want to build the community center in order to peacefully reach out to non muslims.
What I want to know is do you think they'll succeed in building it? Support and opposition is all over the place.

Serious Business / Music and the future
August 05, 2010, 10:22:26 PM
The way artists work has come a long way since companies first started selling records. The advancement of technology has really changed things. You no longer have to spend a lot of money just to know what your band sounds like recorded. My little hundred dollar music instrument interface for my computer replaces most complete studios from the past.
And the internet makes it extremely easy to distribute your music to people with mp3 files. I think we are very rapidly inching away from the idea that you have pray that a company executive "discovers" you or your band.

A music instructor at my college told me once that pretty soon we will bypass music companies all together and be able to build a career by directly sending the music to fans. This obviously got me really excited because it means a future where artists will have immense control over what they make without worrying whether they're music was recorded on a low budget that will make their songs sound like crap,or worry about changing how they sound.
Any thoughts and feelings about what the future holds for music? In addition to this, thoughts on genres and such in the future too.
And please try not to stray off topic.(*evil glare at Jerry*)

A public golfcourse is considered taboo in many cultures primarily because humans have an innate feeling of vulnerability when engaged in a golfing act. When two or more people are grabbing a golf club during play in a golfcourse, their hands are bound together and they cannot easily free their limbs for escape or self-defense if physically assaulted.(or if someone cheats at the game)

Par arousal also distorts a person's capability to focus on other physical or mental tasks because the human brain has instinctively evolved to divert the energy of the mind and body towards completing a perfect game.Furthermore -*goes on for 20 pages of minor details.*

-and therefore we have the reason why people golf in places with huge walls and not out in public. This is the reason we build shelters and weapons to protect from danger when engaging in pleasureful activities, including Magic: The Gathering.

I remember somewhere around Sunday night there was this guy setting up a table for anybody to grab pb&j sandwiches. He was an older gentlemen and I think had a small beard and glasses. anybody see him?
Any thoughts on this guy? Certain otaku should learn to not waste food money in the dealers room but at the same time I feel it's not such a bad thing to feed a few people for whatever reason.

Which day is it today? One of the mysteries of the universe. You decide. XD
The machine that we clock into at work wished me a happy birthday when I signed off for lunch.(It was midnight)

As the title says, what panel or event suggestion do you want that fanime in no way in hell would even consider? ^^

I personally think we should a panel and demonstration on how seppuku works. It is an old and honored tradition and I don't see why not. There are so many hardcore weeboos who really want to be a part of japanese tradition and what a good way to do so. We can easily get them to sign waivers.(of course we all know waivers can absolve you from any wrong doing what so ever)

how about you?

This fanime will be my tenth fanime (pauses for audience applause) thank you, anyway I want to celebrate by going to a nearbye restraunt with my friends.(not sure where, but I wanna try some of the thai places) Thus I thought of bringing this topic from past fanime years back so we could all share our plans, share past experiences,or give advice about eating out.(obviously not fast food places)

Things in the Universe / Which zombies are scarier...
February 18, 2010, 06:22:03 PM
the living dead or infected zombies?
The infected ones make more sense logcially but the dead zombies are decaying corpses back from the graveyard and such.
Keep in my mind that this isn't about slow moving versus fast moving zombies since dead and infected zombies can be both.

Forum Games / Fanime fun facts!

Fanime is such an interesting convention. I think we should all point out all the neat things about.

Did you know that fanime's most effective form of advertisement is sending out ninja to secretly put flyers in your back packs and purses?

Because of low ratings, Jay leno might be bumped later in his time slot and push around everyone else.
http://tv.msn.com/tv/article.aspx?news=450969&GT1=28103
This really pissses me off because Conan O'brien will be basically demoted just so NBC can cling to a man who quit his show and then decide to come back. I always thought Leno's 10pm time slot stole the thunder from Conan moving into the tonight show slot. Normally I wouldn't care if Jimmy Fallon lost his show(I think he's bland) but getting pushed to 1 in the morning is a big FU to him just to make Jay leno feel better.

Really got into this series recently and thought I might try my hand at cosplaying Sugisaki. Anybody else taking an interest at cosplaying characters from the series?

General Convention Discussion / Pics in the program
October 27, 2009, 03:32:12 PM
Since I didn't know exactly where to post this, how does one get a pic of what their panel or event is about into the program? Most of us in the comedy club would love a small pic for our panel and would like to know if thats possible in anyway.

Things in the Universe / The jay leno show
September 10, 2009, 01:10:37 PM
Considering he's taking up air time that could go to at least five other shows, do you think this a bad idea. I think NBC is trying too hard to keep leno from rival networks and now we are paying the price for jay leno changing his mind when he suddenly decided that he will not "go out in his prime".
I am being kinda negative because I think Conan is indeed funnier and although he goes back and forth against letterman in ratings, I think viewers just need time to get used to him. My two cents.
