Even if there was no toy, the kids would still want McDonald's cause it tastes DELICIOUS! Also parents need to stop being such idiots. McDonald's is in NO WAY responsible for childhood obesity. Not even a little. It is the job of the parent to care for the child, and if that kid becomes obese, I honestly believe that is a form of child abuse and that kid should be taken away from the parent. I AM FURIOUS ABOUT FAT CHILDREN. I have seen 7 year olds that weigh more than me, eating double cheeseburgers and french fries. Don't tell me it's a restaurant's fault. Next thing you know, we won't be able to sell any junk food at all because mom can't say no.  >:(

Serious Business / Re: Rules on Booth babes/ Cosplayers?

Really? I find this ridiculous! I have seen way worse at conventions, and they are covered up enough. You would see more at a beach or pool. And parents should know there is going to be some questionable attire at conventions.

Honestly I feel the same way! When a new season comes out, I start watching the ones that sound interesting to me, and then after the first few weeks, I check different anime forums and find out which anime other people are watching most. I watch some episodes of those ones too so I am not behind. Lately I have been trying to catch up on the classic anime series too, like the old school stuff I never saw. I STILL haven't seen Perfect Blue or Princess Mononoke!

This is how I at least don't feel totally lost at Fanime! I also sometimes read the Wiki articles of popular anime that I don't plan on watching.

General Anime Chat / Re: Your favorite anime couple(s)
August 20, 2011, 02:38:49 PM
Okay... favorite couples huh?

Taiga x Ryuji (Toradora)
Ayumu Aikawa x Haruna (Kore wa zombie)
Kyosuke x Kirino (Oreimo)
L x Light (Deathnote)

Lol! I got some funny ones!

Vampire Princess Miyu! I almost completely forgot about that anime! This sounds like a really neat gathering, and if I don't come up with something, I would still love to see it. Last year I did consider Asuka from Evangelion though, maybe I can do that!

The 1000% Ayumu cosplay was finished and debuted at AX 2011. Here's me with a Yuu cosplayer I ran into http://hylianinja.deviantart.com/#/d3swq94

...So I got to thinking, would anyone be willing to try cosplaying the powered up Haruna from ep 11? It goes by really fast in the show, but if you take a closer look it's different from Ayumu's outfit. Her dress becomes strapless and has a long frilly trail that comes from underneath the skirt, and she has hibiscus looking yellow flowers instead of bow ribbons, and what looks like a veil coming out of her hat.

quite ambitious but completely awesome

Oh man! What a fun idea! I will definately consider it, but I don't know if I can make such a crazy long frilly trail and all that! I will take another look at the episode and consider this

I know it's a year away, and Fanime 2011 just ended, but me and some friends are already gearing up for next year! I have fallen in love with Korezom, and so thought it would be a great idea to put together a gathering. I saw some cosplayers dress up as Ayumu and Hellscythe, but I want to see more in 2012. What do you think?

Fanime will be taking group pictures during the Gathering/Event this year. If you do not want to be included in those pictures please step aside for those photos. By remaining with the group when the pictures are being taken you give your consent to be photographed.

~~~~~~  Event Information  ~~~~~~
Day: TBA
Time: TBA
List of Attending (Thus Far)
Eucliwood Hellscythe - Rin_chan
Haruna - LadyGlitterbow (me), pLusmizu
Aikawa Ayumu - microgamer2vs2 (maybe)
Friday I was dressed as Misty from Pokemon
Saturday I was Snowbird from Alpha Flight/Xmen, and any pics of the Marvel and DC gathering
Sunday I was dressed as Horo from Spice and Wolf and as far as I saw, was the only one there
Thanks a lot for any pictures!
This is going to be the first time I am bringing so much to fanime! I have enough food to last me and a friend all con, three different costumes, plus all the stuff I actually NEED like clothes! Then there's make-up too. Crap! My friend's car is kinda small too so I don't even know how we will fit everything in there! LOL!
Unfortunately I don't have anything to dress impressfully in, but I would love to go to a smaller late night party. If anyone is having a party I can bring a bottle, any night of the con really. I also have fun group games. Pm me and let me know!
Anything that just needs hot water to be made. I got some oatmeal and to-go mac and cheese. Offers a variety from the usual con diet of pocky and instant ramen. I also have some cans of tuna cause I love it so much! Just need to pack a can opener!
best would be to email panelsATfanimeDOTcom they may be able to accommodate you. You may also speak to the people manning the doors before the panel room opens, but they may not be able to help you as much as emailing panels.
Who would I go to about my friend being deaf? She can read lips, but at previous cons, if she is not in the front row at panels, she misses out on everything. Is there anything available for deaf people? Otherwise going to any panels is kind of useless. Any advice?
thanks so much!
This sounds so fun! Also I have a few haruhi suzumiya figurines that I would be willing to donate for prizes. If I want to donate, then do I arrive early or what?
Let's all be friends! Lol! No really, you are already at a convention where everyone there has the same exact interest as you, there should be no problem making friends. Best thing to do is go to group events where you know there will be game playing and talking, and then do just that... talk! It's not creepy to walk up to strangers and strike up a conversation as long as you don't act creepy. Talk to a cosplayer, "That's a nice outfit... how did you make it?" Talk to people at a dance... "Wanna dance?" Get involved in a game or karaoke! One of the best places I went to make friends was tabletop gaming. Break out a game late at night when people are dying for something to happen. Those fun group games like pictionary, apples to apples, or munchkin. This makes you exciting and popular. Invite people to play and they will come over. There you go, you have just made some friends!
I love this idea, and as I said before Darkfall, I will love to help you by being an NPC! Or if you have enough help I would still love to play along!
Hey! Since the trip is tomorrow, I thought I would put my number up here, so if anyone needs to get a hold of me (late, lost, whatever!) they can! Feel free to add my number to your phone or whatever if you are planning on attending! It's 925-917-1174. Also, I found a bunch of Japantown coupons I would like to share! http://www.sfjapantown.org/Business/index.cfm?promo=1#
Hey can wait for the 26th. Also I forgot to mention that its actually my bday on Saturday. So i was hoping i can take picture if that is ok with everyone and also record my trip on my flip camera. Plus I am going to still cosplay even though It will be raining.
Well happy birthday! I am honored that you will be spending it with us! And of course it is okay to take a picture, we can take tons!
As for the weather, it really is too bad that it will probably be raining, but just break out those umbrellas! Japantown is indoors anyway, so I don't think it will ruin our fun. At this point I think it would be too hard to reschedule.
Anime/Manga I Would Recommend:
Spice and Wolf
Toradora! (the best high school romance!)
Kuragehime (Princess Jellyfish)
Yotsuba&! (the best slice of life!)
Gosick (so far it's excellent)
Kore wa zombie desu ka? (not actually about the zombies americans are used to!)
Kodomo no Jikan (WARNING do not watch if you object to highly inappropriate situations and loli fanservice)
If I had one wish, it would be to have a magic button that would turn my life into a musical at my whim. Dancing and singing everywhere!
