^ Is that part of basketball? I was at applebee's a few days ago and one of my friend's mentioned it. Also...no since I don't know what it is! :P
< I must disagree on you with wind vs rain. Wind is TEN times worse! (in my opinion!)
> I cannot find the down arrow key on my computer ANYWHERE!
(points down) What computer button do you think is the most useless on your keyboard?

@LadyGlitterbow although we've decided a time and location I think we should have some sort of contact list in order to keep in touch with each other in case people have a change of plans or get lost, etc.

I was beginning to think the same thing. Of course, like I said before, if anyone wants to get my number, just go ahead and pm me for it. (I don't want to just put it out there for anyone)
Also, I am going to have a nice sized sign that says "fanime gathering" when we meet, just to make it fun and obvious!

Hi me and My friend would like to go to the meeting if its ok with u. I was wondering if it ok to cosplay? Also I was wondering, This is my first time going to Fanime and I hope I can make lots of friends. In technical terms this is my first big con. ;D  :-*

Fun fun fun! Of course you can dress up if you want, but I wouldn't pick anything too outrageous or something you wouldn't want ruined since we will be walking around, you know! Can't wait to meet!

It would be great to have Summer Wars shown.
Totally agreed!

Well, an "acting" workshop all by itself sounds a bit uninteresting and unfocused, but what if you covered topics like how to use acting to pose for pictures, and made it more about the photo shoot? Cause I actually realized while making one of my costumes, "I am going to have to practice poses so I get good pictures!" And so coming up with good poses and facial expressions for certain kinds of characters would be awesome. You could cover the generic characters.

Panels and Workshops / Re: Wig Styling Panel?
March 05, 2011, 11:08:41 AM
This sounds like it would be a really cool panel, and I would love to go because I have no idea how to style a wig! Yeah covering what products work best and how to cut bangs into a wig would be awesome too. Where the best deals are, and also where is there help for wig styling online, like what websites offer tutorials that are really good. That would be helpful! Hope to see you there!

Anyone want to go on the 12th anyway? It's a friend's birthday and we were going to hang out in J-Town that day. Can't go on the 27th, anyone want to hang out on the 12th?

Sorry the 12th didnt win! Also we are going on the 26th, not the 27th, if that makes any difference. Anyway, have a good time no matter what! :P

I don't mind going. I'm just a Bus and BART and Bus (again...) ride away.

But I'm pretty shy and I seem to be one of the youngest interested. (I'm 18.) So it depends if I build up the confidence. But I'll keep that in mind and so far. My plans are free on the 19th and 26th. 12th, I'm unsure as I may or may not go up to Tahoe that weekend and on the 5th, I'll be visiting some friends, but plans can always change.

Don't be shy! This won't be a huge crowd I don't think. And as for age, anyone is invited, and although I may be 24, I am not that mature! Lol! So depending on the day, we would love to have you. Its all about having fun!

I never go to the masquerade but since a lot of people do go, it might be a better idea to change the gathering to Saturday. Either day is fine with me!

I guess the dates are between March 12th and 26th so far! Make sure to vote if you haven't so far! As for a place to rendezvous, I was thinking outside the pagoda in Japantown, that is a pretty obvious landmark. We could meet sometime in the afternoon, like 12 or 1pm. Grab lunch and shop, get to know eachother... of course I figure that anyone who needs to arrive later can meet up with us. I am just sketching things out right now. I will close the polls this Saturday so we can have an official date in mind, and start planning on the details. Also if you have anything to add, feel free. Questions? PM me if you want, no big deal! And I can't wait!  :)

Dealers Room / Re: Money spent on items
February 22, 2011, 05:49:44 PM
I only spend maybe $100, but don't forget artist's alley! That place eats up a lot of my money because I think, "I may never find this any place else!" Of course I am always happy with my purchases!

I have to see this! I thought a Ouran Host Club would be a great idea, and I am so happy that there is a gathering! How did I miss this last year!?
yea sorry we tried to keep it in an area where we could enjoy ourselves and it didn't work in our favor, this year that won't happen, btw will you be cosplaying for the event?
Sadly no I wont be, but I would love to see everyone else in costumes. I am already swamped with all the costumes I am doing! Lol!

id be interested in going.  how old are you guys?

I myself am 24, and so is my friend Liz. I Don't know about everyone else, but it seems most con-goers are between ages 13-26. Of course don't let age bother you! I will be a fan of anime and comics forever!

Thanks a lot! I just added the poll, and I personally don't care what day we go on. So Vote away everyone! I will probably decide by next week so everyone can get notified in advance of when we are going!

I vote for the 12th! (^o^)/
We should definitely get a poll going!

I would love to get a poll going but I can't figure out how! Lol! Do you know?

Who wants to meet some fellow Fanime-goers? I sure do! If you would love to hang out in Japantown with some fresh faces, meet us on MARCH 26TH AT 12PM in front of the Big Pagoda in Japantown. We will have a nice sign that reads "FANIME GATHERING" just to make it obvious!

In case you dont know, here is a link to where Japantown is:
http://www.sfjapantown.org/

And this place has a lot of cool stores:
http://www.newpeopleworld.com/news/

People Going So Far:
Ladyglitterbow
Liz
Christofu
sweetniar
kupo (maybe)
jerry
kookiekween99 (maybe)
Hisuitsume
Tifachan101
nf33
darkmoonlitstar
Powoooi
Memo
Elimeno
Otakuya (maybe)

Don't be shy or embarrassed, or feel too young or too old. My friend and I are both 24, but there are plenty of teens interested in going. Also if you don't want to go alone, bring a friend. Even if you aren't going to Fanime, we would love to have you, because this is all about meeting people with similar interests and having a good time! Finally, if you would rather arrive later than 12pm, we can arrange to meet you at another time, just pm me in advance.
And as much as I know the San Francisco area, I would love it if you guys have any other suggestions. Any particular stores you want to visit? Something cool going on? Let me know!

Ideas and Suggestions / Re: Late Night Mystery Event
February 06, 2011, 07:40:01 PM
Quote from: c2chaos on January 22, 2011, 10:17:08 AM
How are people supposed to know about it? Word of mouth maybe? Or does it get hinted on the forums and all of the sudden it becomes the Forum's late-night social rendezvous?

Wouldn't it get put on the schedule? If not, we could also spread the word with fliers, and/or the NPC's could go around saying to groups, "Did you hear about all the mysterious stuff going on? Meet at the so-and-so to find out more..." Or whatever, you know? There are plenty of people out at nighttime playing games and just hanging out, so I am sure they would love to just jump into the game.

The first time I Karaoke'd at Fanime was last year, but you can bring your own music if you want? Cause if so, I got a performance that will blow the socks off of all of you! And it is mostly Japanese related...
