I can answer some of these based on prior posts:

-Are we allow to play music @ our spot?

Yes per this:

Alrighty, what if we're using battery powered things? Like if I used my laptop for the duration of its battery life?

There aren't any outlets against the wall if you get a wall-spot, and I didn't see any if you're in the middle-area.

I always buy new batteries for my Boombox to play music for the Swap Meet, which last for maybe all of one evening.  I am selling my Sony XPLOD Boombox to the first person who's interested, and will provide the A/C Power Cord, instructions, and box if they need it:

http://www.pcrichard.com/catalog/product_popup.jsp?productId=693

If someone does buy it from me, I will use my backup boombox (not as effective tho. haha) to play music for the rest of the Swap Meet. :)

-Can I bring my laptop? I wanna watch a movie while I'm selling stuff =p

You don't want to interact with people who are browsing?  ???

Search for "laptop" in this thread as there are several posts discussing this.  Laptops can be brought in, but only powered by the batteries, they can't be plugged in.

-Can I bring a stool to sit on? Its one of those folder able retractable outdoor chair.

Only other question: last year we brought one of those folding chairs people use at parades, that won't be a problem to bring again this year to sit on while selling, right?

Absolutely fine!

Thanks :)

I myself am bringing a folding chair on top of a large rolling luggage, 3 boxes, and a backpack.   ;D

-I'm bringing in 4 boxes of stuff to sell, there's an elevator right?

Yes, see p. 2 on the map of the SJCC here: http://www.sanjose.org/EC2/sitepdfs/convention-center-layout.pdf

What I'll be doing a lot of this Thursday-Monday - waiting in line.   ;D

Tonight will be interesting because I'm selling tomorrow after work but picking up my badge tonight.  Thankfully everything is packed and ready to go!

Dealers Room / Re: Anyone lining up REAL early?

Did they specify what would sell out quickly?  Sounds like something to be taken with a grain of salt, but they may be right as well.

Flying solo like I said.  I have a cousin who may be attending the con too, but he's not signed up to sell, and I'm not planning on him being there on Friday.

I was going to bring in my dinner of chicken nuggets and eat before it all starts.  Cross my fingers!

I didn't see this discussed here nor in a quick search of the forum - for those who will be flying solo on either Thursday or Friday, how would you go to the bathroom during swap meet?

You won't have to worry about me, right now the plan is not to hit the place up until Monday.  Otherwise I will be participating in the con, getting in line for signings, looking to get into panels, and taking photos.   ;D

This is my first swap meet.  I'm now #121 on the waiting list for Friday and was thinking of backing out and shooting for next year, but it sounds like I have a good chance to get in.  My plan is to pick up my reg on Thursday with everyone else, browse, then come back on Friday and sell.

I have quite a bunch of figures/model kits, so I'm currently looking for some large, yet man portable boxes to carry them in.  Being able to bring in a wheeled luggage will help out, which has me wondering now how to carry stuff in a box and pull what I have in the luggage.  We'll see.

I've never really understood the appeal of why so many people hang out in the game room to be 100% honest. It's something to do, and fun but you're at a convention. Why bother going to the cons tournament if that's your major focus.
Everyone is free to do what they want, but I wholeheartedly agree with this. To each their own I, but I had more than enough to do walking around, hitting up GOH signings (and waiting in line for same), and taking photos of cosplayers. However, the fact that there were so many people in the gaming hall (walked through it just to see what was up, then left) shows that there is a large demand for this sort of thing, and with the 24 hour programming, it is something to do late at night/early in the morning, although I'd take sleep over this.

So no comments on the gaming hall from me.

Funny, I had been thinking of what if someone performed an anime rap at the Masquerade?

If organized, what if the winner of this contest then performs at Masquerade as one of the opening acts, like the karaoke contest winner did?

Thanks for posting, I look forward to reading it!

Also thanks for posting the pic of the Dutch cosplayer, especially since I restarted watching Black Lagooon and was wondering if anyone has cosplayed as Dutch.  :D

PyronIkari, do you know if things like the no photography policy during concerts for x band or only official goods will be signed stipulation are mentioned as part of an agreement that the bands sign with FanimeCon?  I'm assuming that all GOHs sign contracts, or are the arrangements not as formal?

Autograph signings
In addition to putting up the schedule in the Hilton, also put up signing restrictions, especially if they are strict like with LM.C's in that the GOH will sign official goods only.  Also if the rovers could let people in line know about things like this.  They did make announcements with things like # of items, no flash, no posing with the guests, etc. when applicable.  Otherwise if it wasn't said, it went or was asssumed.

MusicFest
If possible post the policies as soon as they become known on the main section of the website and update the MusicFest section to let people know about this too.  Also if the rovers could communicate the no photography policy as people come into line, as there usually was someone monitoring where the end of the line was, and to advise either stashing cameras in cars or rooms or have them out of sight to avoid getting booted after waiting for hours, which I heard happened.  If announcements are made at MusicFest about signings, mention that they will only sign official goods too so you let the people who are most likely to show up know or to remind them.

Awesome, thanks for posting this!

IIRC, the results from last year were very detailed and listed who did what character from what anime/game in each group.  Is this info available also as well and can it be posted?  I was looking forward to it and would really appreciate it!  Thanks!

I understand that there are places nearby to pick up flats of water.  My complaint/con point was that there was very little complimentary water available at the convention center itself, unlike in previous years where water dispensers and cups were available.  Some people did make a mess once or twice with the cups, but over all those years the water was appreciated.  Especially since people didn't want to pay the three to four dollars for a bottle of water.
Technically not in the convention center, but accessible, there were water dispensers on the Hilton side where the autograph signings were. Not the same as in the convention center itself, of course. Not sure about the Marriott side, was only there once.

-Captain Harlock and La Mime (and Emeraldas at the Masquerade)

Hee...that was us!  My hubby was Harlock and I was both Miime and Emeraldas. Glad you were happy to see the costumes..there's not always enough love for old skool ;)
I saw you guys at the Cherry Blossom Festival and thought I might see you again! There were several people from the NCCBF at Fanime. I'm glad to see that both of you are getting recognized for your efforts.  ;D

BTW, one of the staffers who was working the signings was mentioning that he was dressed up as Harlock when the staff had their own signing session with FLOW. The band signed his belt and blaster! How cool was that! And it could have been your husband! Those guys for sure are into the old skool, 2 of the 5 of them remarked on my Fist of the North Star shirt that I wore to their signing on Saturday.

Did the Miyuki you saw happen to be a man? I know thats a weird question, but my friend Alan did Miyuki, so I'm wondering if it's him you saw.
That was probably him then. Guy with long hair and glasses? Good thing I saw the Bokuto Police Station shoulder patch, that was the tipoff.

Dealer's Room
no one seemed interested in bargaining on Monday though?
Depends on who you talked to and how you came across I think. IMO as a consumer in the dealers hall I vote with my feet, and I figure I can always get x online or from someone else, it doesn't have to be at con right then from a particular dealer. Otherwise impulse buying can slap you and leave you with buyer's remorse. I only bought on Monday as dealers tend to discount on the last day or at least are more open to it vs. earlier days. All the manga I got was discounted from dealers who stated clearly that they were marking down. In hindsight I could have countered by asking for a little more of a discount on 4 School Rumble mangas I bought from 1 dealer but jumped on their offer too quickly. I was also able to get a collective $6 off on 2 Eva figures by getting the pair and asking although they weren't marked as discounted but I figured what the heck, just ask.

I am somewhat behind with a lot of the more recent anime (e.g. Vocaloid [doh, not an anime], Hetalia) since I was more on top of the scene when I was younger, so I was pleasantly surprised to see some folks who were also into some old skool titles come out and represent:

-Gally from Battle Angel/GUNNM (my favorite manga)
-Iria from Iria: Zeiram the Animation
-Belldandy from Oh My Goddess (same person did Iria the previous day)
-Captain Harlock and La Mime (and Emeraldas at the Masquerade)
-Miyuki from You're Under Arrest
-All the Ranma ½ cosplayers (was my ATF series at one point)
-1 person I found who was Battle Royale
-Kuja from FF IX (didn't really see anyone else doing FF IX)
-the Catbus from My Neighbor Totoro (very creative!)
-Lady Eboshi from Princess Mononoke (finally someone from the movie other than San and Ashitaka)

This was my 1st Fanime in 10 years.  I took over 1,300 photos, hit up all the signings I wanted to except LM.C (gave up when I saw the line for that 5 hours before), got to shake hands with celebrities, learned a lot of new things (like which characters are with what series, what Ninja is), and had an overall awesome time.  I can't say that I feel depressed that it's all over now.  End of the con on Monday things were slowly dying, so what else to do but head home and prepare for Tuesday.  I still have all the photos I took to rekindle memories and experiences and some awesome songs to loop like Gee and Super Girl that were played at Masquerade.  Also a whole bunch of new anime to check out so I can recognize characters when I see them!

For the Yamaga party on Sunday, one way to get tickets was at random times from Stage Zero.  How random was this and how frequently did it happen?  Did I have to camp there to attempt to get one?  The area was one of my most frequent spots I passed by, i.e. several times a day on Saturday and Sunday, but I didn't hear a word about the Yamaga party.  Thanks!
