I thought it was a blast. I do however really regret not being able to make any of the dance classes held throughout the day. I had myself promising to myself that I would, but I was working day shifts, so I missed 90% of them, and the last one I wanted to go was right after my shift and my feet were dead tired by then.

But yeah, me and my friends had a ton of fun.

I didn't go, but I saw the maids around, and they looked cute.

Oh, I'm in Rovers, btw, if that helps anyone answer my question.

I've looked at the shift schedule, but I'm having a bit o' trouble understand it. It simply provides shift times in terms of "morning", "evening" or "graveyard". What does this translate to in actual clocky time?

Same as Faye  (Nina) said, I'm not interested in that genre of music at all, and it's not so much that I've never heard of MOMOI. I could care less how popular a band is, and only give preference to whether or not I like the music. I would attend MF this year regardless just for the concert atmosphere, but since B&W ball is being held on the same night, and it seems to me, much much more effort is being put into the B&W ball than Music Fest this year, I plan to attend B&W ball.

It's nice that you're trying something new, but this has probably been one of the most focused MF's I've ever seen. There's very little variety in the genre. At least in previous years, you provided a range of genre's so even if someone wasn't fairly interested in one genre, they would stick around to hear another band. i.e. That year with Swinging Popsicle w/ mothercoat, etc. A ton of different sounds were playing then, but with only three bands, (scratch that, two bands - The other one was removed from the list for some reason) it seems you guys only want to focus on one genre that doesn't appeal to everyone.

This is just my input, and I don't mean to offend anyone, besides which, I'm not saying any of the bands are bad, or that MF staff did a bad job. Just a suggestion to expand the variety next year.

Okay. Room at the Marriott (basically right in the convention center). Roomie needed. $72.50 for the entire weekend (Friday night, Saturday night, and Sunday night) up front.

Whose inside already: 2 guys, one 20 (me), one 18, and 1 girl (18). Preferably looking for one more girl, but another guy is okay also. 18+ please.

Rules: No smoking (in room), pr0n, secks, late night parties, drugs, etc. You know the drill. Drinks are fine, but not excessively. Be quiet when people are sleeping.

If you're a guy, be willing to sleep on the floor on alternating nights. Girls get their own beds. We have one king and one rollaway.

We're cool people, and we just wanna hang out and have fun. Drama is annoying. JOIN USSSS. ;B

E-mail me at [email protected] for correspondence.

Btw: Willing to carpool if you're from the Sacramento/Davis area.

Still lookin. =]

And for the people who keep thinking I'm an axe murderer, here's my myspace: http://www.myspace.com/Earth_Dragon21

This would be hot.

But in the Yaoi bingo, if I'm correct, they only strip down to underpants or something right? A girl stripping down to bras and panties, or in some cases a thong really isn't the same thing as a guy stripping down to his boxers, or god forbid, briefs. There's more of a social stigma attached to it.

People would look on the guys as them just having fun, but they might look at the girls as if they were just acting slutty and might make them targets.

Generally what I'm saying, is that the events wouldn't really be equal.

Not that we could rreeeeaaaally guarantee it, but they could require solid undershirts and something else for the bottom? I just mean so it is kinda similar. I think that would still be cute/sexy, but less.... flashy?
Or maybe a bikini. D: For some reason, a bikini carries less social stigma than panties and a bra. ;D

I understand that too. It is important that you don't have thousands of con goers bored out of their mind. I just hope the bands don't suffer because of it. I'm not as dramatic as some of the other fans; but there are some that are worried that big-ass bands won't come back because they feel under appreciated. Mostly of course I'm talking about AnCafe fans who were concerned that the only US destination on their world tour seemed to be kind of bum (attendance wise.) Nowit's obvious that they're being dramatic, but they do have a valid concern. So if we are getting any major bands I really hope that the same thing doesn't happen to them.

On another note... I will never understand why the attendance was so poor (overall, not totally.. there was a line out the door and down the street!) seeing as advertisments for AnCafe seemed to be EVERYWHERE. It also does not help that I personally do not think very highy of the Black and White ball cause there really isn't very much actual ballroom dancing and WAY too many people to be comfortable. But to each their own. =)

As we are giving them exposure to all our attendees, I don't think any of our future bands will suffer since they are able to use the opportunity to reach out to their American fans and gain new ones.  We offer the opportunity for our attendees to see the band. If people don't want to see them, then it's a personal choice.  We can't force everyone to come and fill up the venue in the way they are familiar with in Japan. (That would violate fire code and shut us down in a heartbeat.)

As for your statement on Black & White Ball, I'm not sure how that relates to your opinion on An Cafe's concert & MusicFest as they are completely different events with different purposes. The percentage of attendees going to Black and White Ball doesn't really affect the percentage of attendance for MusicFest.  In total, the number of attendees at both events together is only one fourth of attendees at the convention. There are still another 3/4's out there that aren't at MusicFest or the Black & White Ball.

Hm. I was really looking forward to attending Black and White Ball this year, but if it's going to be at the same time as Music Fest, since I never miss Music Fest. Then again, Music Fest doesn't seem that appealing this year either, so maybe I should go to B&W. Now I'm just lost. D:

Wow... I'm a bit disappointed at this years line-up. I mean, I'm sure they're great bands in their own right, but they don't seem to be what I'm looking for. And I really really hope we have more than just three bands lined up. I can't even remember a Fanime where there were only three bands in MusicFest. It's just... disappointing.

MusicFest is the number one thing I look forward to each year, and it doesn't look like it will be that satisfactory to me.

Hey, we're still looking for one more person for our room. $72.50 for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night altogether. Pretty sick deal right? And please stay for that entire weekend. Even if you're not staying the entire weekend, we'd still require the $72.50.

It's in the Marriott. We'd prefer one more girl, since so far it's two guys and one girl and we don't want the one girl to be uncomfortable or anything, but either way is fine. I'm 20, and the other two roomies are 18. We'd prefer you to be 18+ as well.

Be generally tidy.

No smoking in the room.

Our room is not to be used to *host* certain things. You know what I'm talking about.

You must pay immediately. Preferably ahead of time through paypal, or you can just hand me the money when we first meet up.

The beds will be one king size, and one rollaway. I'll be taking a sleeping bag myself. The girl roomie will get the king size, and I dunno about the male roomie, so there's possibly an open rollaway bed. If you're female, you'll definitely get the rollaway bed, and the male roomie can sleep on the floor because we're just chivalrous like that. ;D

Oh and if you can't get to bed at a decent time, that's fine, just be quiet and don't wake the people that are getting much needed rest. Meaning no TV when people are sleeping. I'm working 6 hour+ shifts, sometimes late into the night as a rover, so I'll need as much rest as I can get.

If you're interested, please e-mail me at [email protected], and tell me a little about yourself. =]

First time I've ever Cosplayed (if I actually end up doing it), and I think I'll be Firo Prochainezo from Baccano.

All I basically need is stuff from the thrift store. x3
