if you're going to bring your own food, DO NOT BRING RAMEN ONLY. My friend and I ended up getting very, very sick from eating ramen all weekend.!
i don't think bringing ramen only is a bad idea. well it depends on the person i guess. i love ramen so i can eat it all weekend perfectly fine without getting sick or anything.

Ideas and Suggestions / Re: The hug line
July 28, 2009, 09:32:22 PM
I thought the lines were fun. I didn't have a problem with it. but on Monday (2009) most people left and the line only had about 5 people. some of the guys were half dress and going a bit over board. they started yelling and like " aww come on . give me a hug " it was kind of akward . but the other days it was kind of fun. everyone in the hug like were by the wall and they weren't half dressed or anything and they stood there with open arms. they didn't say anything except thank you when you hugged them . People holding signs are fine.

Ideas and Suggestions / Re: Cosplay Changing Room!!

we can consider it, but remember the con would most likely need to pay for these rooms per day and have staff of the appropriate gender sit there to watch the room. Gain vs. cost, such an arrangement is not very viable. So don't get your hopes up.

How about charging someone if they are  going to use it. like $3 to use it throughout the con or something? I'm not sure about this but at some conventions in japan, you are not allowed to wear you're cosplay to the con. you must change at the con for some reason. So they would have changing rooms and would charge people about $3 or something. i'm not sure about it though. but i'm sure i read it somewhere.

Changing in the restroom is a pain. For people who are changing and for people who need to go . lol. i had to go and i had to wait a bit in the restroom since cosplayers were changing. then i had to wait like 2-5 minutes until i could wash my hands since everyone was standing in front of the sink in order to do their make-up and wig. Changing rooms are also a good idea because not everyone has a room. I live in SJ so it would be odd to get a room in a hotel when i could just sleep at home.

Yoshioka Yui would be awesome! She's the one that sang rolling star in bleach.

How about inviting cosplayers from other countries to be a guest ?
Alodia G (blackmage9.deviantart) is a famous cosplayer from the philipines. she'll be great for a guest .
Or maybe the famous Kipi from japan ! <3 but thats like impossible lol .

Momoi would be a great person to bring back. she was amazing in 2009 very energetic.
Yoshioka Yui would be good too.

Registration / Re: Reg Feedback Thread

The lines weren't as long as i thought it would be. I went there at about 4. i would have been there eariler but i had school and when it was over my friends wanted to shower before she went . Anyways, the line took about 1hr. maybe a bit faster? but it was easy and the people were pretty nice. they didn't ask for much lol. they didn't even ask me for my ID. i only had a student ID so good thing they didn't ask.

Registration / Re: Poll: Group Reg (please comment)

I am so fore group reg. i am a under 18 ( i'm 15 :O ) and i don't have a government ID or anything. but my other friends do. since i didn't have this ID i couldn't pre-reg/early reg. if the group reg were up again it would have been so much easier for me and would have saved much time.
my friends could have been the leader and gotten my badge for me. Group reg really is much better and easier. i don't understand how hard it is to "pick out" the badges. i remember another member saying something like all they need to do is separate the badges by leader.
for example the leader is bob and bob is bringing 10 people . so the 10 badges could be under his name in a stack. well thats what i have to say. i really hope that group reg. will be available in 2010 .

Staff & Volunteers / Re: Becoming a Volunteer
May 25, 2009, 07:15:39 PM
volunteering was a bad experience for me. before you think about volunteering keep this in mind.
most of the time you will be checking badges. it's a pain to sit for 5 hours stright.
if you are 18+ or you're parents don't mind if you stay til midnight then it will be easy for you.
unfortunatly, i am under 18 and i need to be home before 9. finding a job was pretty hard.
i kept going back to the vol. center and there was always nothing. i spend most of
the vol. time checking badges at doors but it gets very boring! i sat in a chair for 7 hours just to try and get my hours done.
in the end i stopped volunteering for the rest of the con. it was hopeless for me.
so just kept that in mind. the volunteer center is also pretty unorganized and unhelpful. if you need your hours done
just get the log and go to the rooms yourself and ask if they need help it's much faster than asking the vol. center.
i just wanted to let you know that. never again am i going to volunteer.
i don't mean to offend the vol. team they work hard. but this is just my opinion.
