How soon will the performance start on Friday? Or has the time yet to be finalized?

It's actually perfect along with Saturday and Sunday masquerade and LMC to follow.
I kept telling myself that I could catch Thursday night's Swap Meet so I wouldn't have missed out on it, but just now remembered that the Karaoke Contest is also on Friday night; this is FLOW we're talking about so I hope my friend doesn't mind me not being there to support her.

I'm so excited in was talking them with my friend saying that if would be awesome they could come here. And here they are!! I have a gathering that day, I wonder what time the concert is going to be. Hopefully I will have enough time to change and get to the concert in time. Or get someone to save my place in line.

I hope I'm able to go. I'm more excited for FLOW than for LMC. I just hope that I'm able to get to that concert. I don't know yet about being busy that friday or not. I have to agree though, I think saturday would have been a better day.

I apologize if this question has been asked and answered here or somehwere else, but i'm brand spanking new to fanimecon, and wanted to know does the weekend long pass include the '10 musicFest stuff, because I'm basically there to see Flow, and would die if I went and needed another pass of some sort. Again I'm sorry if I'm posting about an answered question or in the wrong spot.

So ever since I found out that FLOW was coming to Fanimecon I had been looking info on them because I had no idea who they were. So I would like to know more about them and their music. What would you recommend me? I've listened to a bit of their music but I still don't feel like I've grasped their "concept" Anyway, I would like more about them so that I wouldn't feel akward when I go see them at MusicFest. First I experienced seeing Yoshiki live at Anime Central 2010, and now FLOW is coming to Fanime 2010?!?

So I know if you have a badge or whatever you're entitled to all of Fanime's events, but will there be a ticket pick up like there was last year? And will the hours for pick up be accurately listed? I remember last year was chaotic because it seemed like the pickup window was open for like 30 minutes every 3 hours or so, or at least it seemed that way.
Just let me say again how terribly excited I am that FLOW will be there this year. I've even been listening to FLOW at work. Soon the IT staff at my school district will know this music as well as I do. ;D

No, we won't be doing ticketing. Just line up at the venue and show your badge at the door. :)
I am so bummed that I can't see FLOW on Friday nor attend their autograph session on Saturday. I'm stuck taking my middle school orchestra to Anaheim for a music festival and a workshop at Disneyland from Thursday - Saturday. Don't get me wrong, I'm super excited to be with my students....but FLOW....[sigh]
Oh well....I'm all ready to work on Day -1 and I can't wait to enjoy Days 3 and 4 of con!!!

I'm sorry if this question has been asked already but I was just wondering if anyone knows what time the concert is supposed to start?
I saw FLOW in concert at AnimeFEST in Dallas a few years ago, and they were AWESOME live. They sounded just as good live as on their CDs. I don't remember what the photo policy was at that concert, but they had no problems with photos during their autograph session and the hilarious fan panel after the show (took a bunch of pics!). Hopefully it will be the same for their appearance here. Keep an eye on their official site after Fanime. After AnimeFEST, they blogged with a few pictures talking about their experience at the con. I am curious to see what their impression of California will be ^_^ They are the only reason I'm considering going to Fanime now, but I also need to know what time the concert is. I, like many others, have to work on Friday (argh), so it will be a crazy challenge getting from SF to the concert in time :) But it would be worth it~ Any idea when the schedule will be posted? Thanks!

Wait till the end of the week as the Master Convention Schedule will be posted up then on the very front homepage of Fanime Con 2010's Website. This includes all events and concerts. You can do your planning then especially people coming from out of town. When you pick up your Badge and Registration Stuff at the Convention site there will be the Program Guide and a Small Pocket Size Master Convention Schedule included in the Bag.
So, to enter.. all you need is your badge right?
And it takes place @ the Civi Auditorium?

Your badge is tangible proof of your purchased membership. So just make sure your valid badge is visible when you enter the Civic.
If you have a full membership (i.e. a four day membership), then you're good to go for ALL the events at FanimeCon.
If you bought a single day membership (Friday), then you can go to the concert but not to the Q&A session or the Autograph session which are held on Saturday. You would need a Saturday membership in order to attend.

My understanding would be that the autograph session would be more of a fluid line than a seated room, so it would be hard to reach a "capacity" anyways. You go up, present your token to be autographed, thank them as they sign it and move on. Or does it not work like that? I don't think they would have another Q&A since that's what the panel would be about...

Some questions for the mods:
1) What can you actually get signed during the autograph session? Only official goods?
2) Can we give gifts to them? Then what would be the gift policy?
3) Are cameras banned from the Civic Auditorium like it was for An Cafe?

You can hold on to your cell phone but if you use it to take pics or record video, Rovers will escort you out of the venue.

MusicFest shirts are the MusicFest shirts (they have our Musical Guests on the back). We aren't a part of FLOW's concert tour like we were for An Cafe's World Tour, so that would be a "no" on the exclusive tee.
However, I do think our first ever MusicFest t-shirts are pretty awesome. :D We have a limited number of them so be sure to get yours before we run out. Once they are gone, they are gone!

As far as I know, there won't be any FLOW merchandise at the concert or the sessions but you can definitely check out JPopHouse in the Dealers' Hall for some.
You may take pictures during the Q&A and the Autograph sessions for FLOW.
My advice is if you really want some FLOW merchandise beforehand and want to play it safe, try SF Japantown.

Is the San Carlos Room beside Santa Clara or are they the same room? =o I'm a little confused since the San Carlos room isn't labeled in the map thingy given out by fanimecon x.x Or I might have missed it?
Are the doors going to close at 7pm? Or can I still go in after 7? I'm not sure if I can make it in time. Is there going to be limited seating, or will it be big enough for most attendees to get in?

The San Carlos is next to the Santa Clara. San Carlos is where the Autographs will be held and you start lining up for them in the Santa Clara room. This is done so there isn't a huge milling crowd blocking the hallways in case of emergencies.

The concert was AMAZING!!! I am still deaf in one ear and it was a price I was happy to pay. I can't say I've ever had so much fun at a concert. Thank you again for brining such a great band to Fanime. ;D
The concert was zomg amazing! Fanime has yet to disappoint me in GOH's because every year, there is always that one great band that just rocks the house! Keep up the great work Fanime!
FLOW concert was amazing!
They played all their Anime music and even did Beach Boy's "Surfin' USA".
I attended their Q.A. and autograph session. It was a hour and fifteen mins long wait, but it was definitely worth it!
I hope FLOW shows up in future Fanimes!

I must say I was left unsatisfied by the FLOW Concert.
It wasn't the band. Oh no, they where fantastic. There equipment was not set quite right it seemed as there was quite a bit feedback, but it was nonetheless great.
What I am disappointed about is the audience. It was pretty dead past the front part of the front row and a few patches here and there. I was at the back of the front row and it was only me and my buddy with are hands up in the air trying to rock out and have a good time. Then there was like 7 guys to my left with there arms crossed, just starring out at the stage. Not even a smile or anything. Later when I moved up to the balcony at the end, I could only see roughly 1/4 of the audience being active.
Me and my buddy feel that most of the audience was quite disrespectful to the band and am deeply saddened. I was surprised that they even came out for a encore for that audience, or even that the audience called for one.
Does anyone else feel the same way or am I just one with unusually high standards? =P

That's true, but removing the chairs makes the crowd look much smaller, which makes the band sad. :'(

I think that's part of it; I was surprised to hear how this was the first concert for many of our attendees. And the crowd for FLOW may have been more casual than, say, LM.C.

Well, again, each and every member of the band personally asked practically every staff member if they could come back, so they seemed very happy with the experience.
I'm glad to hear that FLOW enjoyed performing for us. It's always hard to judge how genuine a band is, and it seems especially hard to judge how much a Japanese band is being genuine about coming to and performing for an American audience. I hope they do come back. They were pretty damn cool.

I watch live DVDs pretty often, and the difference between the Japan fans and the US fans are REALLY different. Sometimes the audience in Japan is completely still (like during a ballad or something), while the US audience will like...sway or wave their arms. And of course, there are those who just want to sit and enjoy the music, not so much rocking out to it.
Chairs: I completely agree, at the VAMPS live (that FanimeCon gave me free tickets to <3 <3 <3), it was just standing, and the crowd was sooo small because we were all cramped up into the first ten feet of the floor. Hahaha~
Maybe it's because we've been chilling at FanimeCon too long and have lost all sense of personal space...and after we're granted that in the place where we'd least expect it (MusicFest), we felt awkward having this much space to ourselves. lool I felt that way, a little bit.
Concert attendees: SO TRUE. All the friends I brought with me all told me "...to tell you the truth...I've never been to a concert before..." (I think they were missing a big part of their lives right there). But I really enjoyed the chill/laid-back atmosphere of the FLOW concert, everyone was there to have a good time. The LM.C live felt more like a fan-club live? It's like everyone was part of the cult/club already...They were both fun in their own ways. :)
Coming back: I almost cried when I saw this...XD I would've thought that because they've already played in the California/Bay Area, they would want to expand to the rest of the US, but gosh that made me so happy. If they want to come back, I am DEFINITELY welcoming them back with open arms. :)

I was at the front of the audience, so I didn't notice the lack of energy in the back. Because the energy up front was wonderful. But I did notice that many didn't seem to know what to do , and waited for the band's instructions and encouragement. Being a veteren of LIVES from when I was in Japan, I knew how to react.
But FLOW seemed to really know how to get the crowd active and invovled, and that impressed the heck out of me. And I did love that, at least around me up towards the front, the fans really did try to get active, even if they didn't know the songs or what to do.
As one of my friends said after the concert, they've never had to work so hard for a band before. XD
I came out to San Jose and Fanime specifically for the FLOW concert (since they are my favourite (active) band) and I was definitely not disappointed.
And I am glad that they were happy with FANIME, and if you could get that back next year, that would be wonderful. Because I plan to come next year anyway (because I was very happy with the rest of the Con that I saw on Friday).
PS- Does anyone know where I can find a setlist for the concert. I know all the songs that were played, but don't remember at all what order they were in other than SUNSHINE 60 was the first Encore.

So I'm sure the fans were just as clueless as to what to expect. I found it extremely helpful when they gave us all the cues, they really helped everyone have a good time. :) some seasoned bands might've just done their own thing and hoped that the fans would catch on on their own, I loved how FLOW held our hands through the entire thing. By the end (Go!!!) everyone knew what do to, it was awesome to have the entire hall move as one for that song...
I feel as if every song they chose to sang had some part of fan involvement, like a call and answer, or jumping or yelling "hey"...I liked that too. I admit there were a few songs I wasn't familiar with, but as long as you felt the music and moved to it, it didn't feel awkward at all. It was a casual live where everyone could have fun, whether if they wanted to dance or sit and listen (I would recommend the balcony for that, you can sit AND see!!!)
What i found interesting was that when they played Freedom (currently my favorite), if you listen to it, you can tell it's a song you're supposed to headbang to, but nobody did that, even though FLOW gave us the cue to do so. It was fun headbanging with them though (since i was probably the only one that did it with them)...it'd be great to rock out to that song again. Hahaha...
As for the setlist...I don't know the exact order,
But Days came right before Colors
Calling was a few songs ahead of Freedom
Go!!! Was dead last (not including the one encore song)
I hope some other people have some sort of recollection about the setlist, id like to know too.

This was actually their second time in the States. They were guests at AnimeFest in Dallas in 2006. From what I understand, their reception was quite disappointing, since not many knew them at the time. (I did, but I was in Japan at the time)
But as I said before, I loved the cues and encouragement they gave the crowd. The Japanese fans know what to do, and, you are right, bands probably get complacent and just expect that their fans will know what to do. I think it was so great of the band to know that the US fans are not necessarily going to know what to do.

I think their setlist was chosen specifically for those reasons. Besides the fact that they picked all the themes they have done (besides Realize), and of course doing Nowhere, which is their song dedicated to the fans, I think the other songs picked were ones that could really get the fans involved.
Yeah, I couldn't headbang during CALLING because I had people too close both in front of and behind me. (Though I could certainly do a lot of good fist-pumping). Though I must admit the headbanging that KOHSHI and KEIGO did, with the... ahem... appropriately placed microphones, was a bit both amusing and a little disconcerting. XD

Though, I wasn't really energetic as other fans because about 90% of the concert, I was trying to see the stage, because of very tall people blocking the singers D: So my friend thought I wasn't a big fan of them, but I'm a HUGE fan. I wasn't jumping and stuff because I was trying to see the stage, jumping won't help for me, because the tall people in front of are jumping as well, so I can't exactly jump over them LOL. But, with the chances I was able to see, I had a really good time :] I really hope they'll come again soon ^_^

I didn't know who Flow was before this. I flew in just for LM.C. But I LOVE music and concerts, so I figured I'd go see them. I got a pretty close seat on the right. And they were really great!!!!! They were so much fun! I loved when they played Surfin' USA!! lol, and then they had us all do the wave!! It was so awesome!
And that's SO sweet that they wanted to come back!! And I love how much they loved the audience. I really didn't like the chairs though >:( Concerts are way better when you can actually be close to the stage and be right next to the band. And it did feel really awkward to dance around and rock out to them with everyone all spaced out and such. :-\ But Flow was really awesome!! I'm definitely getting them on my iPod! ;D

Chii, i was dressed as a cowboy for the Pirates/Ninjas gathering, but i got the time wrong. it was around 2pm or so when i met them.

Just because a group is old, doesn't mean they can't be appreciated.
Yes they are not as fast and hardcore as when they were back in the 90's, but they are still great and regardless of how old they are, I still appreciate them and don't compare them to their past selfs. And they played their old songs in the concert so it's all good. But I look at them as veterans and a group who should be able to make the music they want and I still think there good but not "as good".

That would be really cool. I know there were some cameras during the live to showcase the band over the live TV screens on both sides of the stage(or I think that's what they were used for).
I think I'm in love with Manager-san. He totally rocked, and he is very nice. :D

There shouldn't be any videos online for either of the two shows. The cameras in the Civic were for the two screens on each side of the stage and usually, the videos the managers take is for archival purposes, not broadcasting.
@PickleBunny-I'm pretty sure muffin was referring to the PV Making Of rather than the Re:member from the show. But thank you for the reminder 8)

I was the first to mention that it was most likely for storage purposes, which seems like a good plan for a manager to record everything. Thanks for the clarification though.

There was one point in time when the manager went down the autograph line and recorded everyone waving and being awesome, I think that's a POI to watch out for, just in case. :D
As for LM.C, the chances of anything being released is slim to none, they're already working on putting together a Europe tour digest for their next DVD release, and FanimeCon just happened too late for it to be put in (is what I think). Although little tidbits mayyyy show up in the release after that (although it might be too far away [in time] to be able to be put in....])
**As for LM.C's own YouTube channel...they do have one, but it's mostly for DENKIMAN and Hama-chan. 8D I don't have the page open at the moment, but I'm pretty sure that's all there is at the moment........
PS: MICROCOSM WAS RELEASED YESTERDAY. CHECK ITTTTT! (It's FLOW's newest album, yay!)
