JoJo figures!!
I saw a Young Joseph and a Series 3 Dio. But those were super over-priced. Besides that, nothing! I understand that I couldn't find much Kill La Kill, because it's newer and with out much merchandise. But JoJo has been around forever! Please dealers, more Joestars!

Likewise.

I saw a vendor who sold a Jotaro figure, but yes it was super-overpriced and was cash-only.

Hopefully next year more vendors carry Jojo figures. :D
Glad to see you agree. That shows there IS a demand. So I hope the dealers take note! :'D
Welp. Here's hoping for better next year. Plenty of Jojo art in AA. Just need plenty of Jojo Merch in DH!

Registration / Re: KUDOS TO REGISTRATION!

Registration on Friday was super easy. No wait at all, just us weaving through the lines lol. Thanks for keeping it so well staffed this year!

Dealers Room / Re: Hours
March 22, 2010, 06:13:05 PM
I'm pretty sure Dealers room opens at 10am.
Or at least that's what I remember from previous years.
As for when it closes, I have no idea. Late enough though. * u* Plenty of time to look around.
Monday is a short day. But Friday-Saturday-Sunday are all the same.

I really hope the lady from CustomCosplay.com returns. I love her stuff, and want to buy some pillows for sure.

Hotel and Facilities / Re: fairmont san jose?
March 09, 2010, 08:51:58 AM
I think Kyra summed up all the payment questions.
As for how the fairmont rooms are, I've used the Sea Cliff suite during Fanime, which was very nice.
It has a sitting room with a little bar area and TV, A large bathroom and a vanity mirror and bench, which comes in handy if anyone needs to apply anything for a cosplay, a closet, and the bedroom with very comfy beds, and another TV and drawers, plus a safe for valuables. There was also a full length mirror, another handy thing for cosplays.
The room service never bothered us when we were there. But all you have to do is put the little door hanger on the knob, and they won't enter. I was able to use the elevator every time I needed it. No where near as crowded as Hilton.
Most extra things involved with the room have an extra fee, From internet to breakfast.
I would say it's best for you to go down the alley and find some where else for breakfast.
No sense wasting $10 for a Muffin and fruit.

I'm pretty sure Fairmont is the most expensive of the hotels used for Fanime, which is why it's the one last to be booked.
Since you asked about breakfast, I feel I should just give you this advice, don't bother spending your money on things like breakfast or room service. you could get more for less with a short walk.

I agree about the actual history. I'd say leave it out completely unless the cosplayers really know a lot about their nation. It just takes a couple History buffs in the audience to really run things down hill.

I would say study your nation before the panel in general though. Even just questions like relationships and favorite color, food, holiday etc. need some knowledge.

I'm looking forward to it either way, see you there! 8,D

Ideas and Suggestions / Re: Swapmeet 2010
February 01, 2010, 07:58:17 AM
Saturday Swap-Meet would be amazing. I sold Friday last year, and I know there were people who didn't get room to sell. So making a Saturday slot would offer a chance for those people to sell. It's win-win.
And that's right. If the Dealers room feels threatened by another night of Swap-Meet, then maybe they should try to rape us of our money a little less. u u;

I have an unrelated question about Swap Meet and didn't want to create a new thread for it since the title is general enough.

Has anyone ever tried selling anything expensive (~90) and/or rare and was successful selling it? I have a completed Rei garage kit and some other uncompleted garage kits that are a bit more expensive than what's usually sold at swap meets and wanted to know if they are worth bringing.
I was able to sell a PSP last year for 80. So it might be possible. C,8 I might be interested in a Rei figure either way. I collect figures of her, among others.

I think you bought that sitting Asuka from me at the Swap-Meet, Mister_E .
Thanks!
Yup, that's her she's still on my desk lamp.
Cool! That's a good spot for her.

I think this might have been my favorite con yet. C:
I experienced a lot more this year, and had a great time. The staff seemed to improve quite a bit this year too, but the people in front of E-gaming Friday night should have been more on top of knowing what to do and tell that Stand-By Swap Meet people, as we asked and they told us registration was ready and we could go in..
Only to find out that registration wasn't ready for us, and we ended up just swarming and clogging the room.
I felt bad for the lady who seemed to be in charge of Swap-Meet registration though.
It wasn't her fault that we were sent in before-hand, and she was shaking like a leaf as she did her best to sort it out. D:
Besides that, everything was smooth. And I thank the Rover who went out of her way to stop the Dealer's room line-up people from mashing into my waiting spot at the front of Swap-Meet. XD I know I was there really early and probabally a little obstacle, but I really appreciate it.

Besides that, the only other down-side I had this year was something that Fanime staff itself would have a really hard time controlling.
"Glomping" or in my own painful experience, "Unannounced Plowing"
:(
I was Crossplaying this year, and only doing lolita and stuff in the past, I had no idea how aggressive some Fan-girls of the character you cosplay could be!
Me and my Twin sister did a Crossplay pairing from Hetalia, and as girls, we wore 4-5 inch heel boots instead of combat boots.
Needless to say, after 8+ hours, the last thing I needed was to be tackled in a busy Dealer's room or Artist Alley.
My sister was nearly plowed right into a booth in the artist alley. I had to help steady her, as we didn't need to be paying for a bunch of ruined prints on top of everything else.
I was even pulled out of my car Sunday evening in the pick up line by a girl who wanted to take a picture with us.
D:
I was fine with people who asked for hugs, but yelling my characters name across the convention is not enough of a warning,
I don't really think there is much you can do, as I think 'No-Glomping' is already a rule.
But just my 2 cents.

Dealers Room / Re: Dealers Room vs Swap Meet
May 27, 2009, 08:59:07 PM
I did not really get to browse the Swap-Meet much, as I was busy selling like crazy in there. XD
But I did find some promo bleach posters and things you wouldn't find in the Dealers room.
Unfortunately I missed out on another seller who had Hetalia figures! D:
By the time I was able to get away from my spot to look, none were left. (Wa-Wa-Waaaah.)
Over all, it's a tie this year. But maybe next year, Swap-Meet will win as I'll have more time to shop myself.

I'm focusing on difficult, extravagant cosplays and other goals for next year, including saving up lots of money.
So only two days after the convention, I'm already working on next year.
:)
So the Con-blues are not that bad this year.
Plus, there are always festivals and smaller conventions people can go to in the mean time!

To all the cosplayers who attended.
all of you are AWESOME! You have made this gathering a HUGE turn out and lots of fun. I do apologize that I wasn't in my cosplay, but gratefully, it is all of you who made it happened. Thank you! <3

=) All of you are wonderful. Let us make it more successful for next year!

Thank YOU, darling, for organizing this whole damn awesome thing.

:-[ Thank you. All of you guys ran the show and it was awesome. Everyone singing the Hetalia song was my most favorite part of the gathering.
That was cute.
And I loved the 3..2..1..Pastaaa! And how the America Cosplayers yelled Hamburger instead. XD
Me and My sister had a great time in our Russia and America cold-war pairing. We hope to see everyone again next year!

It is a BIG "maybe" only a day after Fanime, but you can put me down as Cornelia.
C:
I did not see a single Cornelia this year or last, and would love going as her.
