My brother let me get a copy of the first 3 episodes of this series, and I like it so much that I had to share it with you.

go here and what the pretty flash movie. then check out the characters section. (click on the eyes of the character you wanna see, then put your mouse over thier profile and you can see thier outfit. http://www.baku-ten.com/

The jist of the series is this group of gung-ho gals hires a cooking school student to be thier personal chef. They lead crazy mercenary lives and this spills over into his. lots of robots, gunplay, and humor.

The main character is Joe. Shes the girl who looks like Gunner Yuna...

I will be cosplaying the cooking student at fanime, Kyohei. Since hes a non-combatant im most likely going to be dual weilding some hello kitty spatulas or a frying pan, whatever.

its by Gonzo, the makers of Full Metal Panic. Please check it out!

Im making going (cherry blossom festival) to this a tradition. Unfortunately, Im sure what I'll be wearing will most likely be a repeat of what I've got for Reccacon. I might be able to pull out something new to debut there, but beyond Sosuke Sagara (full metal panic) my plans are constantly changing.

I missed out on Jtaf last year, despite how close it is for me as opposed to other cons, because of work. I'll be there this year, hopefully. Its been a while since Ive talked to Mr. Nagar... gonna have to get all my info myself i guess.

im gonna recommend you check out full metal panic.

giant robots have begun to dominate the battlefield. These warrior mecha, called 'arm slaves', are years ahead of thier own time, because they are created by the minds of the 'whispered' who appear to be born having this knowledge a.k.a "black technology".

Kaname Chidori is one of these people. On the surface shes your typical schoolgirl. she becomes the target of a terrorist group's plot to further thier own 'black technology' program, and things get interesting.

Mythril, an independant mercenary group of do-gooders, takes it upon itself to protect her. They assign thier top arm-slave pilot and all around gman-at-arms, Sosuke Sagara, as her own personal bodyguard. He joins Kaname's class, gets an apartment across from hers, and invades her life.

Thats just the set-up. while there are a few serious episodes here and there, its mostly a love-comedy. Sagara has grown up in a war torn country and doesnt know anything about being an ordinary schoolboy. He plants mines around the school, blows up lockers, tackles teachers, has more guns in his backpack than most police armories, and generally embarasses himself at every chance he gets. Still, for all his faults Kaname developes an affection for him and his misguided attempts to fit in.

hey, i was just watching macross plus!

well im talking about a tangible flesh and blood cosplay idol.

the first step would most likely be a cosplay pegeant, like 'miss fanime'. it also requires other cons to follow suit and have their own contests.

Quote from: "0t4k00"Poor Apollo Smile  she faded into the crowd. I just wonder will there be any girls or boys that will follow in her foot steps to become the next live action anime girl or boy and success farther than before. I mean like "sssuuupppeeerrr staaaarrrr"  8) . Then when that super star reaches the golden globes they will cosplay and raise the popularity of anime.

I wonder is this just a dream or a prophecy? *looks at the chobits girls from cosplay.com on his desk top and wonders* only time will tell.

I think we are a long way away from that happening again. The main reason being that it isnt that marketable. Apollo smile did music, acting, and guest appearances on tv and so on and she still disapeared. What would the next anime spokesperson do to keep a hold of that title?

What would he/she sell? people put financial support behind apollo because they thought she could make them money. thats how people become bonafide celebrities. record execs, movie companies, etc. all promote and pay celebrities to do things they think will make them more money. but what would the cosplay it person sell? i wouldnt buy anime because apollo smile recommended it, and i doubt id do it now for anyone else.

There are however several ways to become a cosplay celebrity that come to mind...

yeah, that was my thoughts exactly. Give it time, the way her career is headed... not to be mean or anything, but shes gone from b-list celeb to b-movies. its kinda sad.

good question... i had some of her music a long time ago, and i remember her introing anime on the sci-fi network way back when... but now that you mention it where did she go to?

Her music wasnt any good, but who cared right?

gonna have to google this one...

EDIT: it appears she just completed a movie, in which she plays a night club dancer... its called Raising Helen (pg-13) which is a drama/comedy. I guess shes still getting work.
