Hello FanimeCon forum members! I've been away from here for quite a while, looks like a lot of changes and new faces around. Lots of new forums since I was here last, this one sounds like the best place for me to be posting this. If not, please go ahead and relocate it. :)

Yesterday I decided that I'd had enough and could no longer just sit and watch what was happening over in Japan, so many "click here to support" or "repost to show your support" types of things showing up, but no one actually doing anything.

So I've put together "A Little Something More," a fundraising site through Crowdrise to collect donations for Network for Good that will go towards tsunami and earthquake relief in Japan.

I know the first thoughts of a post like this will be along the lines of "must be a scam or spam," but this is 100% real. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crowdrise

I figure, where better to share what I am doing than among my friends and family of FanimeCon. I hope that you will all check it out, and if possible give a little something to the cause.

As a bonus incentive to donate right now, Crowdrise is having a promotion where any donations for $16 or $26 before March 31st, 2011 will get you entered into a drawing for an iPod Nano. Drawing is to be held on April 8th, 2011. I have nothing to do with the results of this drawing. http://www.crowdrise.com/uploads/promos/rules/Rules_10035.pdf

Here is the link to my page: http://www.crowdrise.com/alittlesomethingmore

Thank you for taking the time to read, and please don't delete or lock this, it really is something important. :)

what's your favorite song?

I guess mine is Kanojo no modern.
Although Glorious is a classic I really enjoy along with the whole Beat out album, However is overrated imo.

j

Yuuwaku, by far.

Yuuwaku... Wow. Haven't heard that in forever, and just the mention of it brought back so many memories of how good the music was around that time :)

I need to go dig that one out of my collection now, also my favorite form them.

Look at the crowd size, I've only seen that matched by X-Japan and L'arc-en-Ciel

This has been coming up recently. X-Japan and L'arc are technically smaller than Glay. Neither X nor L'arc come close to sales of Glay or concert attendance. So I find it kinda funny when Glay is compared to those two bands. Realistically, in terms of pure rock bands(or light rock/accoustic, alternative etc.)... There's only really 4 really huge name bands that I can think of. Southern All-Stars, B'z, Glay, Mr. Children. They're the only bands to consistently have top ranked sales, Top ranked singles/albums/attendees etc.

Ahhh, well, I'm just speaking from crowd sizes I've seen in concert clips. :)

And semi-on topic.. I have to say this is damn sexy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vTBa68S57HQ

I'm in Norwalk (near the opposite end or the 605 Freeway).  I believe there is at least one person hereon the board from Bellflower, several in the San Fernando Valley, and Riverside County

Don't forget Anaheim :D

(I still think we need a Fanime gathering at Disneyland)

Fanime > AX

BTW, what was the real reason AX left Anaheim?

What I've been told is that Anaheim told them they had to limit their attendees to 30,000 or so, AX refuses to put a cap on total attendees. From what I see, despite being a "non-profit" convention, they sure love bringing in money.

Those are cute names. Unfortunately, Toad passed on. :(
Eventually I will try to get another rat. When the sore in my heart settles.

I am so sorry, I know how hard it is sith them, I saw you don't want to talk about it, do no need to say anything, I already know. The kids get expensive with the medical bills, over $1000 on my first one.. *hugs*

Anything they have here for sale is good product. http://www.rmca-socal.org/products.html

I've been to several of their meetings and they are great people especially when it comes to helping with rat care.

From what I've been told, Kaytee products are BAD mostly corn filler and a perserver that might cause cancer from what I'm told, Mazuri is a good brand, some dog foods are good as well, http://www.naturalbalanceinc.com/dogformulas/RedCalDog.html or http://www.wellnesspetfood.com/dog_wellness_dry_super5mix_complete_healthy_weight.html?page=dog_wellness_dry_super5mix_weight_management

I use kaytee-products because thats what my vet recommended back when I had my 1st rat. Mazuri wasn't available then. None of my rats have ever had problems with this product.

There are a  lot of rat yahoo groups as well, that  you can get great tips and pointers from.

I used it at first too, but then the RMCA told me about that and I was like "ok, no more" :)

I just read this and man, it's a good thing I'm not going to Anime Expo this year. I lol'ed hard at the article, but man, it's so freaking true as well. Here, read it and laugh or weep at it:

http://www.condrama.org/2008/06/anime-expo-2008-moves-to-da-hood.html

if any of you guys go, bring your bulletproof vests, an ak-47 and lots of weapons. :3
LOL, omg, I can't help but laugh.
So, what would be a GOOD location for AX anyway considering it's size and whatnot?

Well, there really wasn't anything wrong with the Anaheim CC.

Maybe they could go back to the LAX Hilton.  ::)

Anaheim said no more once they broke 30,000 :( I miss that place

Yeah, these type of thread will probably never stop being made.

Sadly, you are right.  I'd like to have a solution, but my instincts can only suggest "ban people".  :)

I just wonder why its not already locked or relocated :)

Considering it appears that not one other review exists there, was created in May, and has only 11 profile views.. Kinda just an anti-AX site for now

Sooo.. First person I tried to find ended in failure, but now that I have my pictures, looking for the girl in the picture with me here, because she was just cool. :)

Going to AX in July and Otakon in August to see JAM Project. o/

Aside from that, don't normally show up to small cons, anymore. Anyone I'd want to see there I already see outside of cons.

Glad to know I won't be the only one at AX :)

Anyone hitting up other conventions this year?
Maybe we can get some mini-fanime gatherings going.

My plans are looking like Anime Expo(Just because its local and after 10 years of attending I want to see it fall..), Penny Arcade Expo, and Oni-con
