Can confirm, i checked my email and got my waitlist request. Marriot was my first but i got the Hilton so im happy :)

Does anyone know if the waitlist is even moving? I got on there by day 3, I can't imagine why it would take this long to just get within a block of Fanime. Did people buy up multiple rooms and scalp them

There are just that many people that attend nowdays that hotels are near impossible to get :/

Wont lie, im really salty about how this years hotel reg turned out. i bought my ticket less than a half hour after they made the announcment about how buying your ticket sooner = earlier hotel reg...and my block is today at noon. But everything i wanted is gone.

Same!  And if they'd made the announcement when registration first became available, I would have registered right away.  It's such a bummer.  I've been attending this con since '08 and have stayed at the Hilton every time, but now I'll be stuck with some other hotel.  It won't be the same experience that I look forward to every year :(

This will be my 10th year going and im the same way, always at the hilton (marriot for 2 years).



On an off topic, for those who did reserve their hotel rooms, did you receive one or two confirmation emails? my friend got two and he cant figure out if he somehow managed to get two rooms or if this is normal

Idk, i was looking forward to this year despite how crowded everything has become the last few years (especially the midnight dance and hentai nights @.@), but the fact that i cant get a hotel connected to the convention center is almost off putting enough to make me not want to go -_-

Maybe its a selfish thing to say, but i kinda miss the old policy where you had to have a badge to get into the swap meet on Day 0. To me the Day 0 Swap Meet was kind of a reward for getting your badge early :P


Also does anyone know where the swap meet is gonna be this year?

Oh god, the music was terrible. It was some mix of top 40s crap mixed with EDM beats. I like top 40s, I like EDM, but together it sounded like a mess. The DJ was terrible and kept screwing up the tempo. First it's slow, then it's fast. I really hope they're not getting paid for this.

right? though i was happy with some DJs. Dark0 who plays happy hardcore threw in some anime OST remixes which were legit in my opinion. Dj Blurr played some music that clicked with me because it was old school music i listened to when i was younger.

but on sunday when i walked in and heard this top 40 crap, i might as well have just gone up to my hotel room, turned on the radio, and danced there x.x   

AT LEAST i didnt hear any justin beiber this year....thank god

yeah my friend was dressed in her rave attire under her kigurumi and decided she would wear the kigurumi half down because she was hot.

then some weird older man wanted to take a picture of her. she said sure but quickly put her kigurumi all the way on again xD  you could slightly tell he was annoyed that she did.

it was weird, this was the first year i really didnt see many wall scroll for sale. i saw a few people selling some but not nearly as many as years prior. its my first con walking out without a wall scroll :<

i see the same DJs every year, and while i love a lot of them, i wish that you would give up some slots to make room for some new Djs. i noticed in the description of the Djs, only 3 were listed as making their Debut to fanime.

eHash, not trying to single you out or anything but you are a perfect example. you got to preform every single dance, every single night. you could have given up one of your slots during the weekend and let another new Dj preform for at least one night.

i love the variety we see at con, but i also love seeing new faces that bring different music to the con. And please dont take this post as a bash, it was not my intention. it was just something that i thought about during con and wished to express it here where it can be seen.

i was very let down this year. while i understand circumstances related to construction:

1. Lines sucked this year
2. everything seemed less organized
3. i felt exhibit 1 was a complete waste of space. i mean come on, bring in more vendors or something.
4. sucked that the artist alley was not in the convention center. because of that i found myself going only twice where as i usually go visit it everyday. i felt as though the swap meet should have been in that building instead (swap meet is my favorite thing at con)
5.there seemed to be less games in the gaming room this year, not sure if its true or just me.

overall is seemed less organized and lower budget despite the increase in attendees

Unfortunately, we have no ability to merge groups. Sorry. We are looking at various changes for next year, but until then, we will not be able to help you.

guess ill need to find another way around this dilemma of mine

So i am a group leader for badge pick-up and i was wondering if its at all possible to move both my badge and my partners badge under a different group leader?


ex:
i found myself in a situation in which i might not be able to make it to badge pick-up on thursday but have a friend who is going to be there. can i move my badge and my friends under his name and make him group leader?


im sure this comes up every year xD

sandwich material is a MUST for me xD saves so much money, makes so many meals, and its quite delicious.

usually my group brings PB&J material and regular sandwich material as well (however everyone pays for their own meat).

and some chips are nice too ;3
