Ideas and Suggestions / Anime Password
February 07, 2010, 10:36:34 PM
I just came up with an idea: we do an anime version of the game show Password. Now, I'm not sure whether we could have the guests or cosplayers in character.
Things in the Universe / James Cameron's Avatar
January 01, 2010, 07:13:30 PM
James Cameron's Avatar is one of the best movies of 2009. I've seen it twice, and I saw it in 3D the 2nd time, and I just loved it. Go see it. It would be so cool to be on Pandora.
IDW Publishing publish a series of Transformers comics that are set in the Michael Bay universe and explain more into the universe that the movies couldn't explain. I read them and enjoyed them and helped me get a better understand of everything that's going on. You can find the TPB books at like Borders, B. Dalton's, or even iTunes, but if you want access now, you can watch them on YouTube.

For those who may or may not remember, the Yeerks are the main antagonists of the popular sci-fi children's book series Animorphs. They're a parasitic race of alien slugs who enter into the ear of a human, alien, or creature and crawl through the ear canal, flattening their bodies and sinking between the cracks and crevices of the brain and melt into every available space and wrap their bodies around the brain and attach their own neurons to the neurons of the creature they infested and turning said creature into what is called a Controller. When one becomes a Controller, they have no control over their body and/or any of its actions, though the mind is still alive and aware of everything that's going on, but they have no control over their body, the Yeerk dominates the host-body, and can access their memories, their privacy, and their secrets and know everything about them, from tormenting them to being able to pass through others as those nothing is wrong. Now, this topic is to ask you which of your least favorite anime characters you would want infested by a Yeerk, because being infested by a Yeerk is far worse than death.
Besides the usual stuff like clothes, food, costumes and props, what else are you bringing for Fanime?

Here's what else I'm bringing:

PSP with games
Animorphs books
Paper and art stuff
Digital Camera
Rechargable Batteries
Tolietry kit with toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash, soap, shampoo, and electric razor
Hi, so my birthday is on 5/25, the last day of Fanime. Now, I know that some of you will be going home by then, but if those who are able to stay for the extra day, would you want to hang out with me and about convention and stuff?
Things in the Universe / Star Trek: Countdown
April 11, 2009, 01:02:44 PM
Star Trek: Countdown is a four-issue comic book series published by IDW Publishing and serves as the prequel to the new Star Trek coming out on May 8th. It follows the characters of Spock and the Romulan Nero (the bad guy from the new movie) during the year 2387, detailing the events that cause them to travel to the 23rd century. The story not only serves as a lead up to the film, but as well as a continuation of the Star Trek: The Next Generation franchise.

WARNING: The following contains may spoilers, but it also serves as a better understanding for when you go see the movie. Read at you own risk.
The story is set eight years after Star Trek: Nemesis. Federation and Romulan tensions have generally subsided, with Spock as the official Federation ambassador to the Romulans. Data is still alive and has become captain of the Enterprise-E after successfully imprinting his memories onto the prototype android B-4. Jean-Luc Picard is now Federation ambassador to Vulcan, Geordi La Forge has retired to develop his own ships, and Worf is a General in the Klingon Empire.

The universe is threatened by the Hobus star, which will become a supernova. Spock proposes that the Romulans transport the precious mineral, Decalithium to Vulcan, where it can be converted into red matter capable of turning the star into a black hole, therefore ending its threat. The senate opposes Spock, but he finds a comrade in Nero, the leader of the miners. Nero witnessed Hobus consume a planet first-hand and offers to secretly transport Decalithium, noting it would be better than doing nothing and then leaving his wife and unborn son to die. Nero's ship the Narada is attacked by the Remans, but the Enterprise rescues them and escorts them to Vulcan with Decalithium taken from the Reman ships. On Vulcan, the council opposes Romulan use of red matter, infuriating Nero; he vows if Romulus is destroyed, he shall hold them accountable.

Nero returns to Romulus to discover Hobus has gone supernova and has destroyed his home world. Driven mad by his loss, he attacks Federation Olympic class hospital ships that have arrived to give aid, believing they have come to claim his people's territory. He beams aboard surviving senators onto his ship and kills them for not listening to Spock, and then claims the Praetor's ancient trident, the Debrune Teral'n, which is the greatest symbol of Romulus. He and his crew then shave their heads and apply tattoos to signify their loss. Nero goes to the Vault, a secretive Romulan base, and has the Narada outfitted with Borg technology to begin a rampage against his enemies.

With the supernova expanding, Spock decides to deposit the red matter weapon. He takes the Jellyfish, a ship developed by Geordi, which can withstand extreme environmental conditions. The Narada goes about destroying and assimilating Federation, Klingon and Cardassian ships alike, wounding Worf and damaging the Enterprise in the process. When Spock successfully destroys the supernova, the Narada appears to attack when the black hole flings it and the Jellyfish back in time, leaving Picard and the crew of the Enterprise as witnesses to Spock's sacrifice.
TO BE CONTINUED.... on screen in the new Star Trek movie.
I came up with this awesome idea for a Masquerade skit yesterday at work, we could do a parody of those Geico commercials that have celebrities help tell the stories of the customers. Now I would play myself, one person would be the announcer, and 1 other person would be cosplaying as an anime character and help tell my story. I haven't thought of what character to use so, feel free to give suggestions. Anyway, what do you think?
Forum Games / Combine an Anime with an American Cartoon
November 14, 2008, 04:51:25 PM
This is basically the same as the Combine a Video Game with an Anime topic but just with American cartoons.

As with combine a Video Game with an Anime, you post a video game and an anime to combine, and then the next poster has to give the result. That person gives the next combination, and so fourth.

Now let's start:

Bleach + The Real Ghostbusters
Things in the Universe / What's Your Chinese Zodiac Sign?
November 08, 2008, 12:55:17 PM
I'm a Tiger.
Things in the Universe / What's Your Zodiac Sign?
November 08, 2008, 12:52:17 PM
I'm a Gemini
As the title topic states, what Anime series would want to see brought to America?
I need some help. I need the long black headband that Naruto wears in Part2/Shippuuden. Now, my plan is to purchase an already made headband, which I just did today, and harvest it for the metal plate and attach it to a custom made headband. My question is how do I remove the plate and attach it a new headband? Also, what material should I use to make the headband and pattern?
So, as topic says, is there's anyone living in the Central Coast area of California in the Santa Barbara or San Luis Obispo counties? I was thinking we could meet and hang out together.
General Anime Chat / Ghostbusters Manga
August 06, 2008, 12:54:34 AM
This fall, who ya gonna call? Or in this case, read? GHOSTBUSTERS, of course! Find out what's been happening since the Ghostbusters last saved New York City as Peter, Ray, Egon, Winston and the rest of the gang make their first manga appearance this October from TokyoPop. The phrase "Everyone's a critic" takes on a whole new meaning when the crew is called in to help out a troubled Broadway production. Later, Ray learns that being a Ghostbuster isn't always the thrill-a-minute job he'd imagined it would be. And Egon has a touching interlude with a former instructor who still has a thing or two to learn about the afterlife. Then it all comes down to the ultimate showdown between our heroes and a team of peeved poltergeists. The Ghostbusters are about to be Ghost Busted!

Gaming / Ghostbusters: The Video Game
June 04, 2008, 09:23:05 PM
After more than 20 years, the Ghostbusters are back in an all-new video game that's also a continuation to the movies and is written by the original creators themselves. Harold Ramis, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson and Bill Murray reunite to reprise their roles as Egon Spengler, Ray Stantz, Winston Zeddmore and Peter Venkman. Supporting the ghost busting crew are others from the movies like Annie Potts as Janine Melnitz and William Atherton as Walter J. Peck. The game takes place 2 years after Ghostbusters 2 and Manhattain becomes newly overruned by ghosts and other supernatural creatures. You play as a newly hired recruit joining the original Ghostbusters team and not only are you equipped with the iconic Proton Pack and others equipment from the movies, you also test out a variety of new and unique weapons and gadgets as you get to hunt, fight and capture a wide range of uncanny phantasms and demons in an all-new, funny and frightening battle to save New York City from its latest paranormal plague.

The game also features some classic spooks from the movies like Slimer, that librarian ghost from the first movie, the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man and new ghosts created just for the game.

Ghostbusters: The Video Game will be available this October for PS2, PS3, 360, Wii, DS, and PC.
General Anime Chat / American Anime
May 17, 2008, 12:48:40 AM
What do you all think of American Anime and what American Anime series do you like? Just in case you don't know, American Anime is animation from America done anime-style, some series include Avatar: The Last Airbender, Teen Titans, The Animatrix, The Boondocks, Megas XLR, Kappa Mikey, and Batman: Gotham Knight. I think American Anime is alright. (Thumbs up)
General Anime Chat / Batman: Gotham Knight
April 11, 2008, 11:05:08 PM
Batman: Gotham Knight is a series of six-short animated interlocking films set in between Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, chronicling Batman's transition from novice crimefighter to Dark Knight. Studio 4°C, Production I.G, and Madhouse are doing the animation and Bruce Timm (of Batman: The Animated Series fame) will be directing. Basically, its The Animatrix, just with Batman instead. Each film will have its own unique visual style, complemented with sharp storytelling that depict the blurred lines of Batman as man, myth, and legend.

Here's the Sneak Peek:

One last thing, Christian Bale, the live-action actor, won't be doing the voice of Batman/Bruce Wayne. Instead Kevin Conroy, who did the voice for Batman/Bruce Wayne from Batman: The Animated Series to Justive League Unlimited, will reprise the role for the animated DVD.
One vehicle I always dreamed of driving is that time-traveling DeLorean from Back To The Future.
