What would be the best time for everyone if we were to do a second meetup? 4 or 5pm? Or a bit earlier in the day like around 3? I don't have a Drive costume since I decided not to cash out for Kiriko's uniform just yet so I'll probably just cosplay Miu from Kamen Rider Fourze to both gatherings, unless I thrift something fast.

I'm not seeing that much interest for a separate gathering, and this thread has been pretty dead... If I can get a count of how many people would actually want to have a secondary gathering (not just for Drive but for any other toku-related costumes) and meetup at a restaurant again then I can throw out some times, but for now, I'm gonna have to say no :-\ Sorry!

Nope! I asked for the same location we were given last year which is 8a, "upper corner" just means up in the corner between the Marriott and the con center.

Front page updated with time and location! The time is Saturday, 11:30AM and we'll be meeting in the same spot as last year, near the trees by the Marriott.

I've been checking the Fanime panels twitter too and it looks like a Tokusatsu related panel made it into the schedule, so if anyone here's running it or knows the details about it then please let me know so I can put it up on the front page for anyone who's interested too.

So what's the status?  Are we at noon or at a different time?

I haven't gotten an email from the gathering staff yet so I have no idea! If you're really curious you can check the main thread to see if they've updated it yet: http://forums.fanime.com/index.php/topic,19895.0.html but it looks like they haven't gotten around to it.

I just sent in a request for Saturday at noon! I'll update the front page once I get a reply from the staff that confirms our time slot.

Looks like signups for time slots is opening up soon, what time is good for everyone? I'm thinking sometime around noon again on either Saturday or Sunday and then we can meet up again in the afternoon to cosplay Drive/our secondary costumes and hang out and get snacks. I'll be requesting the same area again as well unless anyone is strongly opposed to it  :)

@pantsu - Oh please let me know if you do! I got the bakamon lock seed a while ago so I've been looking for an excuse to use it somewhere...

@exploding-goats - I'm not sure if there's enough interest yet to have a gathering since not a lot of people have replied but if we do a milk tea/food meetup like last year after the big gathering then I see no reason why you can't wear Drive there since I'm sure most people will be in miscellaneous toku cosplays :D

Hey y'all, I'm back and I finally updated the front page! Sorry for disappearing for a while, I figured I'd wait until people had their plans more settled and then I let it sit for a while...

Can I get a roll call for how many people are planning/want to do current season toku (Drive, Ninninger, etc...) costumes for Fanime as well? Since it looks like a lot of people have multiple costumes they want to wear, we can have another meetup like last year so everyone can represent their older series at the main gathering but still get photos. And we can head out to Boba Bar or Quickly's or something else afterwards again since it seems like everyone had fun last time, as long as someone besides me decides :P

Hi everyone!! :) The thread for 2015 is now up and running so let us know what you're planning on wearing next year (if you already know, that is)! For now I put myself down as Kiriko from Drive, but I'm tempted to do Mayuri from Garo or one of the Honoo no Kokuin characters instead (don't look at me)...

If there's enough interest for a separate Drive/ToQger gathering like last year then I'll put up a sub category for it on the front page as well! If not, would anyone be up for general Toku hangout sort of thing aside from the gathering at a tea shop/restaurant in the area? Apparently Hydration has closed down so we'll need to find another venue, but please let me know if you have any ideas or suggestions!

(Also @Fashwiing and KawaiiMess: Do either of you want to be tall and loud for me again? ;__; I'm wayyyy too short and quiet to actually yell anything out during the gathering, lol)

Fanime is over! I hope everyone got home safe and gets a good rest. Thank you to everyone who came out on Saturday, either to the main Toku gathering or the Gaim gathering! I'd especially like to thank Fashwiing and KawaiiMess for being tall and loud for me since I'm very very short, and pantsu for bringing cupcakes to the Gaim gathering (and the Bandou who brought Danimals too!!). :) It was a ton of fun and I can't wait to hopefully see you all next year too.

Now go watch the new Gaim episode (especially everyone who missed the stream), it's super intense.

Oops, fixed it  :) The wig is defn very time consuming, that's for sure.

@Lady Tanuki: (since I'm assuming that comment was at me) I have a Celes costume, actually! ;) It's here if you want to see -> [link] Her alternate dress is a simple one-piece so I'm pretty confident I can make it in a day, and it's been on my to-make list for half a year now. Plus she doesn't wear her curls with it which is why I want to wear it in the first place.

@pantsu: WTF that shirt is perfect... ahhhhhhhh. Looking at the muffler is just making me warm though.

I'll be showing up as Celes instead since I started too late on my other costumes lol... Hopefully her alt. dress from the Celes's Dream CG but we'll see how that turns out.

omg you guys have no idea how excited i am to derp around as oren pierre.  i put my turban on today and laughed at myself for like 10 minutes.

ALSO!!  in true oren pierre fashion (c'est bon!) i will be bringing homemade cupcakes to the gaim meet....hope this trader joe's cake mix makes enough for everyone!  (they'll be yellow cake with chocolate frosting)

OMG I think I love you... I'll be bringing fruit snacks for sure but I can also bring some cookies if I have time on Friday morning before I leave, as long as my roomies don't eat them all. They will be chocolate+peanut butter chip cookies so I hope no one is allergic to nuts. Also can't wait to see your Oren! Wish I had picked Jounouchi instead of Micchy to cosplay...

I will prob be joining everyone in the "costume not finished" club since my Wakana fabric came super late and I don't think I have time to make something for her alongside everything else. :( Oh well... We will see what happens.

Hi all!! Sorry I went MIA for a while - the forums was not sending me thread update emails so I thought this thread was totally dead until I checked in just now......  :(

It looks like we've reached a consensus for the time for the Gaim gathering so it will officially be at Saturday, 4PM. If you see this and know other people going, please let them know so we can all show up at the same time! :) I'll be updating the front post shortly to reflect this as well as put in the panel information (congrats Angelx624!) and update the attendee count.

The Gaim gathering will be in the same location as the Toku gathering and I will be there a little early so just look for a Micchy in the front plaza. (I know Micchy is a huge nerd now but please don't beat me up.. LOL)

I'll be doing Minato Yoko at SFCBF tomorrow, if there's going to be any gaim peeps there!

Nooo, I still don't have my Micchy stuff in ;__; Are you walking the parade? I'm organizing the contest so I'll be there all morning. Maybe I'll bring my belt and Kouta's jacket with me just for fun.

i was orignally going to cosplay zach all day but since his lock seed set doesnt come out till early sep. its out the door

I'm sure if you cosplayed Zach to the Gaim gathering our Kaito would love it, aha. Really, the set isn't coming out for that long?? You'd think they'd try to get them on the shelves right away since it's already shown up in the show...
